Norfolk (Va.) Lake Taylor four-star defensive end Jalyn Holmes named his three favorites on Wednesday evening, via twitter.
Holmes will visit his three favorites this summer.
Holmes tweeted that his top three was Ohio State, Florida State, and Clemson. He specified that those were in no particular order.
Holmes is a versatile prospect who could play tight end or defensive end. His plan though is to sack the quarterback in college.
“I'm only considering the schools that like me as a defensive end or an outside linebacker in the 3-4 defense,” Holmes said in a recent update.
Three visits are on the horizon for the 6-foot-5, 240-pound prospect over the next two months.
"I'm visiting Clemson the 12th of June, Ohio State on the 19th, and I'll visit Florida State on July 12th,” Holmes recently said.
"After those visits and the spring evaluation period, I'll have a good idea of where things stand and I'll plan visits to my group of finalists," Holmes added.
The four-star defensive end may decide earlier than expected.
"If I know before the end of the summer, I'll decide then,” Holmes said earlier this month. “If not, I can wait for the Army Bowl."
247Sports.com ranks Holmes as the No. 43 prospect overall in the nation. He is considered the No. 4 prospect at weak-side defensive end. He is the 4th ranked prospect in a loaded 2014 class in Virginia.
