The action was great and apparently realistic according to my friend in the Navy. But the acting was just about awful. But SEALs aren't known for their acting I guess.

  • I'm on a quest to see all of the movies that have been nominated for an Oscar. So far I have seen zero of them....however, ZDT is first on the list to see followed by Lincoln and Les Mis.

Love it! I was on the same quest all year and saw every movie nominated for major awards except Amour.

Definitely a great movie, and the storyline was just good, it is as accurate as you're gonna get in a movie.

  • I know the SEAL off the TOS despises the fact that this book was written and this movie made.

There were a lot of inaccuracies, but it had to be done, to hollywood up the movie.

First, they [Seals] would never yell "Breacher" Silence is golden during assaults, especially at night. Talking gives away your position. There was too much talking during the entire scene. A simple fist to the helmet or shoulder is all that they would do to communicate to breach a door/gate.

The stairs were configured wrong inside the compound, and the dog used in the film was a German Shepherd, but the one used in the real life raid was a Belgian Malinois.

Also, only two SEALS made it up to 3rd floor, which was not planned. There were a lot of rooms on the 2nd floor, which everyone had to clear. The first SEAL up tackled two women into another room, fearing that they were wearing a suicide vest. While the 2nd SEAL [the real shooter, not the one who wrote the book] went into Osama Bin Laden's room. UBL pushed his 3rd wife into the SEAL, and then the SEAL shot him twice in the head, and then a 3rd time when he was lifeless on the ground.

Nobody whispered Bin Laden's name, which made him peak around the corner, and then get shot in the head. That was only done for his son on the 2nd floor, which they did get in the movie.

Just to clarify, the comment you quoted by me was actually directed at the movie Act of Valor that Cuth mentioned. I thought the acting in ZD30 was great.
