Yes. 3rd Coast I have at 4, Ye Olde at 4 and PSM at 3.5. Not a tremendous fan of PSM.

    3rd coast at 4?

You crazy...it's the Jadeveon Clowney of beers.

  • whooa...slow down turbo. Its not even the best beer on their team. Whats your reasoning for this 5 star rating?

2=I need another to get the taste out of my mouth
    3=Drinkable and enjoyable
4=Excellent, one of the better beers around
5=Fug you, Im not sharing this! HoF'r

    Reasonable rating system.

    I'd toss in,

1=What prisoners in a 3rd world country use to kill/maim/rape during riots
2=If bumped into at a bar and I drop the bottle, not worth fighting over and just move on
3=Beer that you're usually ashamed of and have to convince ppl is good (especially your beer snob friends but screw em , amIright?), not on the level of the elite beers you go secret agent over
4=the Sh!znit you show off and share w/ a select group of friends, drinkers must be vetted
5=GOAT (and I agree, I'm not sharing and I might actually hide it in the fridge behind large juice bottles)

You may have a perfect rating system. Number 1 is harsh, maybe deservedly so, but Im there with you on 3-5. At least Im not the only one who hides beers in the fridge.

  • Man, some great beer conversation, sorry I have missed it the last couple days.

Given2fly, let me know next time you want to go brewery hopping, Lindsey and I would love to join you and the wife!

veritas, how did that Pliny treat you?

Rhino - Good beers from Avery: Maharaja, Czar, Kaiser, the Reverend, Salvation, Karma, and New World Porter are my personal favorites from there, but have not had a bad beer from them.

U crazy. I love them both, but I rate the 3rd coast higher.

Its the only beer I cannot voluntarily stop drinking if I so choose.

Yes, and its oh so delicious

    Illinoles:
Big thanks to you sir. The Pliny was definitely a 5. I could see why it may be the best imperial IPA. Wonderful orange pour with a nice white foam and lacing of the glass. First smell was very piney, with slight citrus. Taste was crisp and citrusy upfront with a nice malt backbone. Very balanced and refreshing with the hops. The finish was piney and bitter, perfectly balanced and not overwhelming. Overall this is the most drinkable Double IPA out there. Whereas other breweries like stone seeks to just hammer you with hops or alcohol on their DIPA, this beer drinks like an excellent IPA. You could definitely get yourself into trouble with this one.

Edit: As its 5 rating proves, I didnt share this mofo with anyone at my house that night. I stealthily poured it, reviewed it, and drank it up. Nom, nom, nom.ninja

Aren't you in South Florida equa? Russian River Brew doesn't exist in the south.......or are you telling me it does?

My pops is in Washington St, but he's uber religious, might ask him to make a beer run to stock up on some Russian River beers for me and ship it out.

Yes, I am. However, I was talking about the Collaboration Ale which is put out by Avery even though it is partnered with RRBC, which distributes down here.

Awesome review, can't disagree with anything you said. Now you just need to make your way out west in early February to try the Younger. Glad you enjoyed it.
