He's a prolific actor and also runs a theater company.
I first saw him in a film noir - "Hard Eight". A great cult flic. Check it out if you get the chance. Samuel L. Jackson has a strong role in it. It has a few "Nasty" words in this iso clip. You been warned!

Good.
I did business with a member of the family of the area where Capote did his research for his ground-breaking novel: "In Cold Blood." Hoffman won just about every acting award, deservedly so, for his uncanny portrayal of Truman Capote during this time of his life. Stoecklin was the family name. The man who I knew who was the descendant of that family, was, and I believe still is the Manager of the Kansas State Fair.

The wife and I rented "The Master" last Sat. On Demand. Hoffman and Phoenix, Joachim in particular did great jobs, but we both agreed it was the worst movie we've seen since Gigli. Affeck had his revenge this year though with Argo. Don't miss it.
