Carling Cup final was crazy. Liverpool absolutely dominated, but Cardiff did a great job of bunker defending. Shouldn't have gone to penalties, but a win is a win. Very entertaining match.

Oh and Van Persie is out of his mind this season. That goal was a beaut

Forgot to mention this...the Liverpool win in the Carling Cup is good news for the EPL. Yes, the entire EPL. Had Cardiff won, they would have taken a Europa League spot from Newcastle, Liverpool, or possibly even Chelsea/Arsenal. The EPL is having an awful year in Europe, while Spain is having a great year. If Spain outscores England by about 1.5 points in Europe this year (which looks likely), La Liga will overtake the EPL as the #1 rated league by UEFA.

Nothing will change, as EPL, La Liga, and Bundesliga (top 3) all get the same amount of teams in CL and EL, but its a matter of bragging rights. The EPL and La Liga will be in a battle for #1 over the next few years.

Was watching the US game and missed it, but Smalling and Huntelaar must have had a bad collision. Huntelaar had a bloody mouth and Smalling was carried off in a stretcher.

Big win for the boys. Obviously it means nothing, but it will do wonders for this teams confidence.

Seems like many of the crew from the other board post here as well. I was pleasantly surprised by the American result but must admit I did not look at much of it. I had the Germany match on the laptop and watched Robben hand it to the Brits! Wembley was half empty! Why do they always seem to head into a major tournament in disarray?
