  • Bump.
I'm a Lakers fan but, oh well.
I like the way the Spurs get it done. Solid drafting, keep their best players, adapt to their talent. Pops is and has been the best coach in the NBA for a whole (I leave PJ out of that convo). Would love them to take another. From the East would like to see the Celtics. Nothing personal against LBJ but I hope that Miami team never gets a ring.

I liked the Heat prior to the "super team" concept. However, it is proving that throwing money at talent doesn't land championships. You also need a solid bench, coaches and cohesiveness. The Heat have one of the three IMO. I like San An and Boston but think age will be a limiting factor. OKC wins it all IMO.

I don't have a problem with people not liking the concept of the "big three". But saying that anything is proving that what they've done doesn't lead to a championship, where do you get that from? They're about to go to the finals again. Will they win? I have no idea, but they're going to have a chance.

And I don't know why it would be considered "throwing money" at anything when they aren't paying the luxury tax, as teams like Dallas are.

They haven't been there yet. I say "yet" lightly. I don't beleive they can remain consistent but as with anything else, i can and will be wrong from time to time speaking opinions. C'mon Celts! Where are you Ray Allen?

  • Did the NBA hire ACC refs tonight?

Nice! It sure looked like it. How Rondo, Pierce and KG kept their composure is unreal. Rondo still managed 44pts though. Oh well. Miami looks pretty good right now.

  • I find any Boston fan (or anyone, really) complaining about the officiating in those games so completelely shaded. If KG got called for 1/4 of the times he just shoved someone down or out of the way, he would play less than 10 minutes per game due to foul issues. And if Paul Pierce got called for 1/4 of the push-offs he has per game, he'd be sitting right beside KG.

There were definitely calls against Miami that were missed. No argument there. But only seeing those and not all the calls missed against Boston, that's just seeing what you want to see.

KG does get called more than most. Rondo gets called very often. Hasn't Pierce fouled out of 2 of the last 3 games? Not sure i agree with it being what you say.

  • KG gets called very infrequently for the fouls he commits. It's amazing to watch. Same with all those guys. I think they (Pierce and Garnett) foul more than most guys do to their diminishing physical skills. While they're still great players, they don't have the athleticism they once did, so they have to find other ways to get to their spots on the floor, to get their separation.

    fsufelip

  • I've never had anything against Boston but the increasing trend over the last few years is that their whinyness breeds whinyness in their fans.

They play aggressive bball which is fine but don't whine at every little tick and tack call that doesn't go your way when you are playing on the edge. It's really old now.

  • It's also funny how the team crying about fouls is the team talking about making the other team "hit the deck". Hmmmm

    fsufelip

  • No whining here. Of course they foul. Some games the calls go your way, some not. Last night wasnt one of them.

I could somewhat agree here on Pierce. Definately not the same guy as 08. KG on the other hand, i've seen nothing diminishing about him. He's quite possibly having one of the more solid years in has career. IMO, the Celts could look at unloading PP and RA as its quite possibly time. I wonder who they'll go after in the draft this year. Austin Rivers??

  • Given that Westbrook is freakishly talented, I still can't help to think the Thunder would be a much better team with Harden and Durant instead of Westbrook. Either way, I am rooting for the Thunder, they are a fun team to watch.

They are fun to watch. Great tempo and young. No doubt they'll be great for years to come. Ibaka &KP did very well tonight.

  • OKC will get two more extra days of rest and can run with the Heat. Durant vs Lebron would be a great matchup. OKC gets it Done and the Big 3 still dont win a title
