I've been contacted by a few users who thought this would be a good idea to have around here for those that are new or have been having problems figuring out how the boards work. So, here's a few basics. If you have any questions, please let Laura, crw, or myself know.

Topics on this board are free to read by everyone unless you mark your post VIP by checking the box “show post to Noles247 subscribers only”. If a post is VIP, only premium subscribers of this site and this site only will be able to view it.

It’s also free to post on Noles247. You do not have to pay to jump into the discussion on this board. You only have to be a registered user. It only takes a minute to register and you do not have to provide any billing information.

After you click on topics, the envelopes next to the thread title will turn grey.

Once you've clicked around for a while, green envelopes on a topic will take you to the latest post since you last read the topic.

Clicking directly on the topic will take you to the first post in the topic.

If you want to go directly to the last post in a topic, click on the latest post to the right of the subject line.

You can tweet a topic by clicking on the Tweet button on the first post on a topic.

The orange icon indicates topics you have posted in.

You can also ignore users by clicking on the "Ghostbusters" symbol in their avatar, or you can send a poster a private message by clicking on the envelope in their avatar. You have an inbox at the top right of the screen, which will alert you to any private messages you have.

You also have the ability to follow a board and follow other users. Once you follow a board, that board will appear in your list of "My Boards" at the top of the board. It will allow you to jump from board to board very easily.

For users that you follow, you can set the board to display only posts from users that you follow. This is ideal for a person who may just want to read what certain people have to say on the board.

The "Dashboard" link at the top left of the board will show you the most viewed topics on the board, the most active topics, the most up voted topics, the most down voted topics, what users are in the hall of fame for up votes and what users are in the hall of shame for down votes. You can also see what users are most followed on the board.

There is also a legend/key at the bottom of the board, which lets you know more about our bells and whistles at this time.

As far as posting pictures, you have to select the picture that you want to attach and copy the image URL into the box and select "attach." If the picture is on your computer already, then you can upload it directly.

For videos, you simply attach the URL of the video from Youtube and click "attach." For links, just copy the URL from the webpage that you want to link and copy it into the box and click "attach."

Finally we also have a first class, user-friendly mobile site where it’s easy to navigate and read articles and topics on the board.
