I am not an expectant mother
I am not a law enforcement officer
I am not responsible for the care of someone with a mental illness
I am not a convicted felon
I do reside in the county where I'm asked to report

I'm sure I had that list too, but I just wrote a letter to them explaining my situation and how it would be very difficult. It worked

First time, dressed like the Hippie I was pretending to be = Gone first round.
Times 2-4, dressed like a businessman = gone pretty quick. Defense atty. figured I would be for law and order, punishment, etc. and kicked me. Hahahahhahaha. I would have voted to acquit even if it was Charles Manson.

Is there a number to call a few days before you are supposed to report? Where I practice, with a number like that, you might be excused before it even begins if some of the docketed cases settle in advance or are continued.

Aren't you working to put yourself through school? I just recently got selected for the first time and I wrote them a letter stating that I had a job scheduled during that week and it would really mess me up financially if I had to cancel my job for duty. It didn't get me completely off the hook but it did allow me to miss that week ( They sent me another summons for a couple weeks later). I live in Georgia so it might be different in Florida.
