Are you originally from Miami? I grew up in the Kendall area not far from Dadeland. I just nailed an attorney position over at the Department of Interior (finally a fed!).

How are the fed benefits? I worked for the State for ten years, and the pension is incredible--if you can live without decent pay for the first 30 years of your career.

No, from Jacksonville. Moved down here for law school 4 years ago.

Well, health, life and dental insurance. I think the pension is pretty incredible too though not quite sure what the percentage of full salary it is (heard somewhere in the neighborhood of 50-60%). The best thing is the Student Loan Forgiveness. After 10 years, 120 payments the rest is written off and you're free. In my case, I'm looking at unloading about 6 figures off my liability list.

That is pretty damn nice. Good for you to get those loans taken care off.

I'm surprised as well.
Slighty off topic ,my sister's a lawyer(currently not practicing anywhere, but passed the bar in Florida). I'm law enforcement, so any legal debates amongst us is interesting.
