    The thing about Gene is that NOBODY likes him. I honestly could not find one person that likes him. Even the booster presidents in different counties who have him speak at their events hate him. The guys at Rivals hate him, they would confess their hate for him to me all the time when I was a national moderator. All his best workers (that made WC great -- not Gene) left, because they HATE him. Now he's stuck with idiots like Langston who makes up quotes for stories when he can't get the kid to pick up, morons like DC Reeves who is basically a younger version of Gene, and so on...

    The best information -- hands down --, because the coaches on the staff actually like and communicate with Josh and Corey, whereas WC is treated like a red headed step child now. ND is good site, but hardly any activity on the site. A lot of mutual respect with the guys who this site and the guys who run that site.

    There are a few posters that like him...his business partner posters that own local businesses, posters that are involved in boosters and seminole clubs, and a few others like that.

    These are the posters he is concerned with keeping happy and that's it. The others he will pretend to care about just enough to keep the business posters happy by bringing them as much traffic as possible regardless of the quality.

I just recently went to the free board (money real tight) and will at some point go back to a premium site. It is going to come down to here, ND, and Tomahawk Nation. I want to be able to post without people going over board (see the Nazi's at WC).

    FYI TN is free but Bud Elliot runs the boards fairly tightly.

    There are still people that like Gene, I don't understand. I really think it is some of the "bells and whistles" features and access he gets due to subscriber volume.

  • I left for the mere reason that, and think about this, I was welcomed on the Gator board more warmly than by any board on WC. The straw that broke the camel's back for me was the thread regarding Shouppe's firing. I stated that I thought that it was bullcrap that they posted a thread before there was even a media release. I thought that as a die hard and loyal Nole he deserved better.

    Gene completely singled me out, even though I was one of about 20 that shared the same opinion. I sent him and e-mail personally that I have shared with some people on this site. The response I got was 5 paragraphs of back peddle with an ending that was basically "if you don't like it too bad".

    I tried the smack board, 64 permabanned me for talking smack. Evidently you are not allowed to talk smack to 64 on the smack board?

    I was a member for 11 years and I was very happy when I cancelled that account.

  • The permaban's are biting him in the ass. He should have had an amnesty as soon as 247 came on line. It was a stupid move not to have an amnesty.

    Also, he is too uptight to let anything resembling a free flow of ideas, debate, etc. exist on Warchant.

    I draw an analogy to iPhones being offered by Verizon. Mac waited too long to finalize the deal and now as a result droid is firmly established in the marketplace.

    Don't bring up BlackBerry. Their conscious decision not to make smartphones mini computers is a whole other issue, especially to those us who were stockholders.

  • If it's OK with everyone, I'd like to just move forward. Both sites have their strengths, some folks like one over the other, and some - like me, will visit both. I don't have, nor do I want to spend much time comparing and contrasting personalities, business methodology and quality/veracity of content. Let's talk tackle football, or off-topics that reflect our mutual interests, and leave the nit-picking to stupid canes/crocodiles/paper tigers.

    To those that don't like this, well............get tore in on me!

    I'm on both and since the communist regime of warchant won't let me talk bad about it over there I will vent about it here.

    Sorry if you don't like it but there are other threads and you already know what this one is about just by the title.

    I have a sub for one reason: to watch it "burn" when things get out of hand and laugh at the freaks on that site. I just can't look away. I wanted to drop it but the mania is entertaining.

    OK, I guess I'm the only other one. I have friends on the site and I enjoy conversing with them.

    I'd like to stay out of the politics of both.

    Hey healthyguy....didn't mean to get you all upset - as I only ASKED if we could play past this kind of approach. I understand if some just can't or won't. It's all good, it's differences of opinion that make horse races.
