I left several years ago. I got sick of MadCows crap, complained to Gene and got a nasty email from him. Dude is a prick and I will enjoy watching his standard of living go down a notch.

Yup. Not that I wished it on him, but there is something to that karma thing.

The point of the thread, and I should have been more clear in my OP, is that Gene never has cared about customer service. What you are seeing from him now is him TRYING to attempt customer service but the concept is so alien to him he came of like the ass that he is. More bannings, more mods, more of what makes that site suck. Most important is the point that he wouldn't have even have bothered to attempt addressing his customers if he wasn't bleeding subscribers, and we all know who he is losing them to. I love it that this site is picking off his best customers. It not only puts that guy in his place but it also causes his product to become even more of a cesspool.

Disagree. Overmoderation could ruin this site because that's what has ruined warchant but I doubt it. Also, pissing on your customers as Dot likes to do.

Different business model and the company seems much more focused on tech updates to keep their boards in the modern era too.

You and I have gone at it a couple times and no one on this board has stopped us as long as we kept it civil. That's the difference between here and warchant.

Edit: Also, the ability for rival fans to post on other team's boards has essentially eliminated the concept of "moles" (but not trolls)...brilliant move.

Same here. Yahoo is also loosing hits from what I read. They're shilling for only one side of the political spectrum and that is hurting them, along with other strategies, such as ignoring some sports teams in favor of others. I'm a 15 year user, switching out. Rivals has that arrogance from pride of place. That's going to change.

Message boards are supposed to be fun. I love debating on different aspects of the tean. If everyone had the same opinion, this place would be boring. People need to take emotion out of it. These boards shouldn't make you upset. Everyone should be entitled to their opinion. Even if people think it is stupid. Instead of calling them names or making snide comments, if people would discuss things it would be better. That is how it used to be and how I would like it to be again.
As for overmoderating, I think people just want it to be fair. Don't just ban people. Give some warning or try to steer the conversation back on topic. Well, there is my two cents anyways.

I left (banned, blacklisted) WC years ago. In 3 years and thousands of post on ND never had locked thread. I just recently went to the free board (money real tight) and will at some point go back to a premium site. It is going to come down to here, ND, and Tomahawk Nation. I want to be able to post without people going over board (see the Nazi's at WC).

So far tmsmith2, everything I've seen here seems pretty laid back. I just started within the last month and thought they did a great job reporting on our recruiting class. They also seem to have a vision of one day expanding these boards which would be great.
