Don't want to give anything a way but Cersei went a little biblical at the end of the episode... It's been about 8 or 9 years since I read CoK and I had forgotten that part.

It was a good first episode. There was so much going on that it ended way too fast. This season is going to be fantastic if it's anything like the books. Speaking of the books, with the new season starting it inspired me to grab a Dance with Dragons off the "to read" pile.

Are you talking about the scene with Joffery? I don't recall that either. Granted, like you, it has been awhile since I read a Clash of Kings.

Had to go to bed because I wake up early for work, but I will watch it later on Live now that they do HBO Go. No big deal for me, I've read the series so far.

I read the book less than a year ago.. Pretty sure that scene was not in the book... Don't ever remember Joffrey standing up to Mommy like that.

I've read all the books but not seen any of the show...yet (waiting for Netflix to get the DVDs to me "Very Long Wait" sucks)
Can anyone who has also read the books tell me about where they are in terms of the book they are on right now?

Perfect actor to play Tyrion which is one of the best characters in the books.
The Daeny storyline was fairly dull in the 2nd book...hopefully the series livens it up some.

Tyrion is one of the most entertaining characters in teh books too. For me at least, that's not a shot at the other characters...the guy is a riot.

Best show on TV right now. Never read the books but I was hooked On the show when the trailers came out prior to season 1.

Great show, Episode 2 was the slowest for me(wasn't much if any action), hopefully all the talking leads to better things. I have not read the books, but love the show.

i couldnt hold off either, any dothraki subtitles in the one you watched. not in the one i watched. i read an article where HBO said no more episodes would be released early. i guess it was HBO poland that released episode 2 a week early then the dumbasses came out and said they would release every episode a week early. HBO came back with a "no you're not". the air time in america will be the first time they are shown.

I thought the first season on HBO followed the first book pretty well with only some small changes that were interesting changes.... Second season seems to be making quite a few glaring changes that I'm not so sure I'm happy about just yet, but so far so good I guess. I'm still enjoying it for sure.

i dont understand why they are changing small things about characters. why do you take cleos frey out and replace him with somebody who is not mentioned anywhere in the books, alton lannister. why do you change asha's name to yara, some people said it was so people who havent read the books dont get her confused with osha(wildling girl with bran). i understand what you're saying, season 1 was pretty on point with the book, season 2 is veering away a little but still doing a good job.
