Honestly I know it's the 1st game but well be lucky to make it with this team
Is this a new round of qualifying?
I thought I heard when they were playing Jamaica last that if they lost they wouldn't make it out of that qualifying stage
Yes, today was the start of the final round of qualifying for CONCACAF: US, Mexico, Honduras, Jamaica, Panama, and Costa Rica.
Everyone plays a home and home against each other. Top 3 move on to the World Cup, 4th place moves on to a playoff qualifier against another region.
Starting 0-1 against Honduras is not going to cut it. They are going to need to pull off a couple road wins that aren't as "probable" as today.
Water is just beer that hasn't reached its full potential.
Klinnsman has been a disappointment.
We fired Robo-Bob to get this clown. Gave him everything he wanted and he's been terrible.
Other than the occasional win against an elite team (Italy, Mexico at Azteca, Russia, etc) we've been terrible in CONCACAF.
Exactly he's been a HUGE disappointment and if he doesn't get to the WC he's gone as he should be
I think that's a little bit of an overreaction. 8 more games and the only team that I will concede is definitely better than U.S. is Mexico. Panama is 46 world ranking, Jamaica is 58, Honduras is 59, and Costa is 66. Now I know Honduras just beat the men but the U.S. will definitely make one of the 3 auto-qualifier spots.

Three W's In My Life: Ward, Weinke, and Winston
While soccer is being discussed I would like to ask what other countries people root for specifically in UEFA? I'm a huge Czech Republic fan as that is my family's heritage. We struggle to make most EURO cups though not to mention World Cups. Basically holding out hope for the 2nd spot in the group and winning a play in game. Italy is in our group so auto-qualifier is gone.
Idk I've watched every usmnt game that has been on tv and I don't think that it's a stretch at all, the back 4 has got progressively worse and we still don't have the offense to keep up, so unless Jk lights a fire under their ass its gonna be a long hexagonal. Now I will gladly eat crow. But I still will cheer my head off for the team
For me it's Germany (family is from there) and England I watched both games today with pip so I was glad tomsee the Germans beat France for the first time since 87 I believe and it was good to see the 3 lions beatnthenbrazilians also 2-1
My guess isn't as technical I guess you would say but I think he does light the fire or they just pull it together in order to not be first team to not make it in almost 30 years, 1986.
Nice. I pay more attention to Europes soccer than any other continents national team league. I do like Germany and when the Czechs aren't around in a tourney, most of the time, I root for them or the Netherlands. There aren't too many countries I will root against from UEFA though unless they are playing the CZE.
Ya I won't root for Italy, France, Portugal and Spain they all annoy me especially Italy (because they flop like no other and Giuseppe Rossi, the American born soccer player who plays for Italy)
Spain doesn't annoy me personally I just don't want them to win again
I haven't followed Brazil closely but are they going to be the favorite going into the WC?
Gotta be one of the favs along with Argentina, England, Spain and Portugal
My grandma came here from Spain. Obv im a HUGE US fan...but i have a mild interest in Spain as well.
Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or it may last a year. But eventually, it will subside. If i quit, however it will last forever.
The only reason that klinnsman has been a disappointment is the talent is pretty poor. We went all in with project 2010. If you do not know what that is; it was a push by US soccer to win the World Cup by 2010.
The problem is that the talent that it was supposed to cultivate did not come to fruition. Not to mention the young stars that we already had on the team are not meshing with a true European coach in Klinnsman. Dempsey was absolutely astonished when Klinnsman told him he did not care he played for Everton, prove he should be playing for Man U.
Until we get more players playing abroad and maintain a true and very challenging national youth program, this will maintain the status quo.

England is always fools gold. however I agree that this team is lacking. However, I am a fan of Jurgen. He is tearing it down to build it up.
We will get to the wc and get our asses kicked. Give him credit. He did win in El Azteca. We haven't done that since the what, '50's. Yes, slight hyperbole.
I think either the Dutch or the italy will make a big run at the wc. Also, Germany was very young last wc. I would put them behind Spain.

Ya but a guy can hope right....as far as Jurgen I honestly expected more out of him especially with the offense but maybe I just too high hopes to soon
What about now?
I will say been playing much better Clint and Jozy has put the team on there backs and with Jozy scoring again has helped everyone, were in a prime position after last night and the Mexican team doesn't know how to score at home... Ill completely laugh if Mexico doesn't make it
USA not only looks probable to make it, but may be positioned to be a good seed at the WC.
They'll more than likely have the same type of draw as last WC. In the 2 pot and have to play a 1,3, and 4 seed.
Hopefully well get the same pool or similar as last WC, if we do that's great. The thing USA needs to do is when they find out the draw is schedule some friendlies with good World Cup teams and get them ready for the World Cup. The confed cup in 09 was a blessing because we played the likes of Spain, Brazil and Italy I believe so that helped with the prep for the WC
If the drawing was today I don't know if they make it to 2. They would probably be right on the outside. It's hard to say though. They're 28 right now and trending upward but some of those Euro teams won't make it. Czechs included.
I honestly think well get stuck in the group of death just like in 06 but still a long ways to go
2006 was a group of death?
CZE, GHA, and ITA?
I'm a CZE fan and I pissed my pants after the first game against USA and then watched as we failed to beat Ghana to advance but that was no group of death.
2012 EURO cup had a group of death. GER, NER, POR, DEN. Netherlands got their ass handed to them.
