If they ever kill Daryl I'll be so mad. He's one of the best characters on the show.
Three W's In My Life: Ward, Weinke, and Winston
I bought a crossbow just because that guy was such a badass with it on the show.
In hindsight, crossbows are not zombie apocalypse friendly. Takes 5 minutes to load that sucker.
The poster formerly known as 31-7. Understood by few, known by many, loved by all.
Yea, if a herd of zombies is coming at you and all you have is a crossbow, you are screwed. I'll take a couple Samurai swords and a sidearm with a silencer.
I think the way they went about clearing the prison was idiotic. Why they didn't just draw the zombies to the fences or out of the prison is beyond me. My have taken longer, but they would have used zero bullets and nobody would have been hurt. But I get it, they have to make things interesting.
I would also go on zombie hunting campaigns to clear the surrounding areas of zombies. 5 people with swords could do a lot of killing.
In the comics they used that tactic a lot. Would draw them to the fence and stab them in head then haul them off. They would get a lot of them sometimes too.
I would also build a funnel type fence to trap the zombies and only allow a minimum to get to the strike point at a time. I'm going to try and illustrate.

Yup. Would work good.
You could even add a gate at the end that another person would slam shut to stop the flow if things got too heavy.
I honestly like the hypothetical "what would you do" aspect of this show. So, what would you do differently?
The one thing I would definitely have done differently is keep the most valuable people as far away from harm as possible. Not like Rick, but as in people with medical and technical knowledge. Their decades of expertise fixing engines or removing a bullet from your arm is far too valuable a skill set and too hard to replace to have them GOING INTO A DAMN PRISON FULL OF ZOMBIES TO CLEAR IT OUT. I thought that was a really dumb move by there part to let, and I forget his name, the older guy now with one leg go in there and help clear out the zombies. In fact, I would have drawn them all out, as carefully as I could, over 10 days if it took it, and killed them a few at a time. I'd have done that far before plunging into the dark and fighting them on "their" turf. But again, gotta make things interesting.
I also wish the show had less human vs human in it. It's about zombies.
Meh on the last sentence. That's what makes the comics really good. There is honestly so much you can show and do with zombies before it gets old. The whole premise is based off of interactions with people in a zombie apocalypse. If it was just fighting zombies all the time it would grow old quickly.
You also have to take in consideration Lori's baby was due any day. They didn't have as long as they wanted to clear out the prison...
I know they can't but everything that has to do with Lori should all just be taken off the show except Rick n Carl, I mean worse mother in the world by far
The stuff with Lori depending on the way they take it actually gets kinda cool and it really speaks to how people start to lose it and suffer mental anguishes from the stress and fear of living in that environment.
Ok, I fell asleep but was trying to make up some ground on episodes I missed last night.
Can someone fill me in on what happens in the fight between Rick and Shane when they try to dump the kid that was injured off at the abandoned school.
I made it to the part where Shane accused him of not being able to protect Lori and then they proceeded to beat the ever living crap out of one another while the Walkers attacked.
Just google the episode title and read the wikipedia summary on it. Try to stay away from the walking dead wikia site as it will spoil a lot of things if you venture around over there too much. Best to just google episode title read summary and get off.
I'm not as hard on her as most. I mean she was told her husband was dead, so she thinks she is single. She was sleeping with a very familiar guy who was protecting herself and her child from death left and right. I believe most women would do the same thing. Kinda goes into instinctual behavior that we often see in the wild.
She wasn't fully responsible for her kid getting shot either. That was a combined decision.
So she didn't want to tell Rick about the baby until she knew what she wanted to do with it, who cares? Go get a girl prego and see if she give a flip about what you want. She's going to do with her body what she wants to more times than not.
Maybe that's just the way I see things, but I'd like to hear what other people think.
I think your first paragraph hits the nail on the head as far as the moral dilemma the writers wanted the viewers to experience. A true: what would you do scenario?
I think it's a lot easier to judge what we would do from our couches than it would be for us to decide if we were actually in that situation.
I understand a lot of what your saying with the whole Shane & Rick saga but I was more talking about Carl always wondering off and she's like "omg where's Carl" and then starts freaking out because he wondered off and then the whole driving from I think season 2 where she's the only one driving and flips the car
My god. Redditor Joh...
Man if I had some green arrows for you I'd let ya have em
Last nights episode was a bit of a disappointment. Just more settin up for season 4. Thoughts?
The show is a disappointment. Can't stop watching though.
I think its funny how the walkers are pretty much a backdrop at this point. Any time there's a walker they just stab and walk like its a casual chore.
I agree. I wish they would have some sort of assault on the zombies. Some sort of group effort to clean out some sort of perimeter.
I would also have zombie traps all over the place near my camp, similar to the one the gov used to catch his walkers for assaults on the prison. Use some sound, some sort of bait like a cow, and a pit. This way you can really save ammo and thin out the herds.
Don't necessarily want an assault on zombies per se.
I'd much rather see zombie-related problems come up that people have to overcome. I'm imagination challenged in my old age but something new and cool like the unforeseen horde that overran the farm (but better and novel) would be a welcome change from the apoliticalypse.
I'm with you on this also. I would like to see them take on a horde like the one at the farm. I'd even like to see them go back to Atlanta for something.
Did anything ever come of that 'rival' group they encountered in the town near the farm? The one where Rick shot three of their guys and they had to fight them off with guns.
Maybe that was just supposed to be a glimpse of the emerging theme of strife among the living few in a world overrun by the undead.
