Chelsea!

  • Down goes Barca, Down goes Barca!

Incredible game. Chelsea down 2-1 in aggregate and down to 10 men score at the end of the first half and then Torres gets everyone off his back and scores a clincher in the 90th minute and the 10 man Chelsea squad advance to the Champions League Finals over Barca

Messi also missed a penalty in the second half

  • But will they be able to field a team in the Final? Lol but congrats to them for a fortress like defensive effort AGAIN! Btw...Messi still has not scored v Chelski. A talking point that people are missing is Messi should have been sent off when he was booked. Earlier in the scrum between Fabregas n Lampard, he gets away w a blatant 2 hands to the chest shove on Lampard? Why? This would have been him going off when he was booked but oh well.

  • I am going to have a decision to make if (when cool) Real Madrid beats Bayern. I honestly wasn't that big of a soccer fan until a few years ago. I took a trip to Spain and spent a couple days in Madrid and visited the Bernebeau and watched some matches on TV because I am not fluent in Spanish and soccer was the only thing I could watch at night and really understand what was going on. That is what kind of got me into soccer. Then when I got back to the States I realized none of my friends or anyone I knew followed Spanish soccer really. But I did have a few friends who were Chelsea fans too, so I started cheering for Chelsea as well. The two sides haven't played each other since I started paying attention, so I never had to choose between the two before.

  • Cool! I will be hoping you do not need to worry yourself. Been a Bayern fan since the late 1970's and the days of Soccer Made in Germany!

  • I think soccer is the coolest of what I consider fitness activities. It's way better than cross country. They should think about changing the rules a bit and making it into an actual sport.

  • Hey I have an original idea.....lets be a douche in a thread about soccer even though I don't like the sport AND the thread is clearly titled....nm dilbert beat me to it.

  • I went insane when torres scored that goal. He has been playing much better recently and if he can stay with it I like him on chelsea. Should be interesting to see the team we can actually field lol. Anyway Go Blues!

Soccer to me is best professional sport in the world. I am a huge college football fan, but I'd rather watch a great soccer match than a NFL game.

Real Madrid needs to step it up today against Bayern and prove why most consider them the best team in the world. The defense Chelsea used against barca won't work against Real because of Real's ability to score from outside of the box. Something Barca has a hard time doing.

  • If Real Madrid win La Liga, and also win the Champions League I think Ronaldo has put together a good argument for best player in the world. Not to mention he has out scored Messi in La Liga so far. Messi also blew a penalty in the CL Semis, and his turnover led to Chelsea goal in the first leg. Messi also failed to score in the big El Clasico that could have put them back in La Liga title hopes and Ronaldo scored the difference maker in that match.

  • Ronaldo 2 goals in 14 minutes against Bayern, strengthening the argument I made last post

  • And of course I jinxed it, I had a final tonight so I didnt see the end of it, but I see Ronaldo (as well as a couple others) missed penalties to give Bayern the win. Congrats to you bayerntim
