My father recently passed away, and he was the only reason I was staying up here in Maryland. Now I want to move me and my kids back to Florida, even though they have never lived in Florida. I'm looking to move back to the Orange Park/Jacksonville area. This would be our first house in Florida, since the last time I lived in Florida, was a longggggg time ago, and had no kids, etc, lol. I'm not really sure where to begin, just have been looking at properties on sites, keeping tabs of the one's I like.

Ok, that's actually the one thing a realtor does have better access to- listings. I would post about the area, I'm sure we have posters from there that could hook you up with someone decent.

How to put this diplomatically.... The demographic trends in that area have a negative outlook in both the near and long term. The proportion of renters to homeowners is unfavorable for overall property values. Further, the area displays a lack of "pride of ownership," which is common with lower income levels and a high percentage of renters.
