If FSU is serious about a potential move FWIW, some UT people I know that would be in a position to know told me (a few minutes ago) FSU and Clemson have been approached by the Big 12.
The new commish's "electronic footprint" comments were not just his own random thoughts. They were made to guage media, general fan (of current big 12 schools) reactions to further exapnsion outside the big 12 area.
the 30 million figure has been told to FSU and apparently has been aluded to by ESPN and FOX.
FSU thinks it could get another 5-8 million from its own network launch.
IMHO, If 35 million is an accurate number it would be very tough to say no.
the big 12 thinks, as to the SEc, it could force its hand regarding 16 teams. The big 12 planting a huge viewership flag (us) and another failry big viewership flag in Clemson right in the middle of SEC country could and probably will unsettle the sEC.
The big 12 believes that will be #1 on the sEc target list when it adds two teams and va tech will be #2. Clemson will be #3 if one of us said no.
They also think the ACC has no chance of getting Nd if we leave the ACC

I'm very curious about who thinks we can get an extra 5-8 million from our own network. I don't think that even Texas has gotten that yet. They have a projected income which I don't think has been realized due to fact that they didn't have distribution. Also, IMG manages it and they get a 17% cut.
OTOH, kansas st has done well with streaming content to their subscribers, but I don't know if they've reached the 5-8 million mark unless that is gross income.
