  • Why in the world are people worried about recruiting. One thing jimbo does well is recruit. How many programs can lose 6 coaches and still finish with a top 10 class? We will get ours.

    I agree.. I guess people will never learn. None of this stuff matters until After next season. Guys we think we have "locked up" will go other places and guys that aren't even on our radar will be then.. Commitments mean nothing now... You would think at some point people would catch on..

  • Hear hear! Signing day just ended and some of these cronies are worried about what happen to this Joe Shmo and that Joe Shmo and how many stars they have next to their name. Who cares? FSU isn't going to be appealing to every kid. How many stars did Bjorn have, X, Ponder?? Coaches will turn these kids into studs. We have a lot to be stoked about.

  • Ignorance. Which isn't stupidity. Folks are intelligent they just dont understand. We have 6 new coaches. They have little traction in 2014 yet. You know how we had very few "ins" with top 250 recruits last year. This year is far better. We have ins and leans and commitments. We just need to give this staff 2-6 weeks to get rolling. If in 6 weeks kids are saying they arent hearing from us then at that point you can just know we dont love that recruit.

  • I am excited to see how these coaches recruit over the next 11 months. Based on numbers, I don't see us taking less than 28-30 in this class (which should end up being a top 3 class). What Jimbo did on 2/6 was reinforce what most of us already know. Jimbo is an elite recruiter!

    I just think people as a whole were very frustrated with the 2013 cycle, especially given the perceived struggles to land top tier talent (and talent in areas of need). To me it's indicative more of a desire for a new cycle that feels more like the past few years did, than any real worrying about whether we will get ours. twocents

    what are you talking about? i wasnt complaining at all. i just said people need to relax. this board is slowly turning into warchant. was so much better in the beginning.

  • I agree, but lets also not forget what your saying and what everyone else is saying (sky not falling , plenty of time, we will get ours, etc) was said all last year as well.....and then all the sudden everyone had a better class than us... just sayin.

  • Recruiting is like a game that lasts all year. Asking why people are interested in 2014's recruiting cycle in February 2013 is like asking why people would be interested in the first quarter of a football game. Why not just tune in for the last 5 minutes of the game?

    Everyone didn't have a better class than us. We weren't getting a top 5 class with all our coaches leaving. You can be interested and not be freaking out because a kid has named a different leader. As early as it is I expect that. Look what these coaches did this year. I am not worried about about recruiting with these coaches, especially this early in the recruiting year.

    We finished 8 or 9th, really can't remember. But still either 7 or 8 had a better class than us. That is literally 1-3 kids.

    So lets hold off on this "everyone had a better class than us" My 7 year old girl does not even distort the facts this badly.
