  • I just don't see how you can practice punting inside that double-wide. I mean, c'mon on! That's not even enough room to fit all our good ole bigguns inside. They'll tip it over if they all congregate near the door!

    Seriously though, glad to see them make a start. Is that Georgia Red Clay they're bringing in for the bed? I wouldn't mind taking a crack at driving one of them steam shovels or front end loaders they've got.

  • Will be located near the Bobby Statue end of stadium, around sod cemetary, best I recall.

    On the current practice fields, north of the north endzone. Can be seen from the Pensacola/Stadium Dr intersection.

    well they put in electrical and plumbing for the IPF when they rebuilt the practice fields. They saved time and killed two birds with one stone.

  • are they redoing the sod on the practice fields or is that part of the construction? Is the football team practicing on the lacrosse fields for bowl practices?

    They're practicing on the old IM fields. Not sure about the other questions.

    If i recall correctly, last year when they made the changes to the practice field, resodding was a big part of it. Im sure if needs it again we will do it.

    Team will practice at the IM fields which they did for the last practice field upgrade. IM field has been a second home in the offseason

    Right, and I'm sure they planned everything out so they could just put the lights back and re-sod, just looks scary, haha

  • By the way, I believe the facility is going at the far end of the fields (Back part of the picture, north of the trailer) toawrds the soccer/softball complex facing east/west (perpendicular to the stadium)

    I am curious whether or not they removed that ugly concrete storage building near the practice field's entrance gate and whether or not they surround the facility with that nice black/steel fence with brick columns like they have in front of the baseball stadium/sod cemetery or if they put up that chain-link fence with green privacy screening. Same with those ugly telephone polls they had holding up the net that was used behind the field-goal posts that they put in last year (They are now removed, so I'm inclined to believe they were temporary.

    With roughly $20 million spent in improvements, I hope they paid attention to the details like that.

    Definitely going to be towards the back. The front training room (ugly concrete building) looks to be getting knocked down anytime now. I do not know anything about the fences though. I'd assuming they are going to keep chain link though because soccer uses the fence as a windscreen holder. But I did notice them taking down all the windscreens (green privacy screening) when I was out there last week. I can try to see if I can get those answers or not. I'll ask a few people I know dealing with the project

  • It will go east-west next to the soccer fields. The original design was for a 80 yard field so you could turn one field north-south and another outdoor fied east west next to practice facility. So now with it being a full 120 yard field there will be 3 east-west fields with a road and parking going next to stadium drive. Yes they are tearing down the old storage house/bathrooms. The field will come over into the parking lot and we will lose 46 parking spots. If anybody is interested in donating towards this project and look at the naming opportunities contact me James Warren at jamnolfin@hotmail.com or jwarren@admin.fsu.edu

    No, theres no room for a track. We had to take over a big portion of the parking lot to get the 3 fields in as it is.

    I wouldn't think so. They have both of those a few football field lengths away at the stadium, so its really unnecessary. Plus, that would require a lot more space and money.
