Your first FSU game?

  • Just wondering when everyone's first FSU game was, home or away.

What are your memories of it?

Embarrassingly enough, I'm not sure I remember mine specifically. But I think it was Wake Forest in 1995.

I remember being a kid tailgating and playing pickup football before so many games, and now I can't remember where that was for the life of me.

My first FSU game was at Miami in 2008. It was also my first college football game. I had always wanted to go growing up, but my parents would never take me.

My memories of it: rain. A whole heck of a lot of it. I remember running to our cars after the game in what seemed like waist deep water. My phone broke because it got soaked through my pocket and I wasn't able to wear those shoes ever again.

Nevertheless, it was an awesome experience.

  • I went to my first FSU game in Tallahassee with my dad when I was 4 years old (1991), and attended most of the home games and several away games, including 2 Notre Dame games, until I left for college 14 years later. We also went to several bowl games and a couple of National Championship games.

My dad has been attending FSU home games since 1974.

As an out-of-stater growing up, my first live FSU game was actually the Emerald Bowl against UCLA.

I grew up watching Lorenzo Booker play live while I was living in California and it was great to see him play so well in his final game. It was tough watching him struggle at times, as he was unbelievably dominate on the field in high school.

  • My first game was the 2005 UM Muff game. What a night breaking UM's win streak on us at the time. I couldn't talk the next day while driving back to Ohio from yelling so much. GO NOLES!

  • I'd have to check with my parents. I was 2, so it was the 1982 season, and it was in Doak.

  • First FSU game was at home vs Troy in 2006, had to comeback to win. Bad omen.

First CFB game was 1996 in the Swamp, UF vs Ole Miss. Their NC year, Wuerffel's Heidman. Uncle was in school there, but I grew up in a household where Steve spurrier was considered the Asshole of all Assholes.

Also got to see one game in the old Orange Bowl, UM vs VT in 2002.

  • Moved from NY in '96, decided to attend FSU as a senior in the fall of '99 closely after watching my first live FSU game in Jax (then Altel Stadium) against Duke. I remember 2 things; thinking Peter Warrick was maybe the most dynamic player I'd ever seen (he scored 2 or 3 TD's) and watching Janakowski warm up with one step 55 yard field goals and move back to 65 and beyond.

  • At doak against USC. In I believe 98 but I remember Peter warrick tearing it up.

  • I honestly do not remember. I am pretty sure it was a home game.....maybe in 1991 shrug. I went to almost every home game in the 90s from the 91 season on and was also privileged to be at all but the last NC game. Unfortunately 20 years later it is difficult to remember each game.

  • 1994 FSU vs Notre Dame in the Citrus Bowl regular season neutral site game. Kanell played well except for the fumble after a sack. It was sweet revenge for the Game of the Century loss in South Bend the year before. We had nosebleed seats, but I didn't care it was a great game.

  • 1988 in Doak. We wore 'em out 52-17. Anybody remember this poster?

  • Had a girlfriend in high school whose grandparents were alumni, her little sister hated football but they bought her a ticket anyways, (guess who went in her place)my first game was the opener in '91 and every game that year until '93, 12 rows up on the 45yd line. I recently went back last year for the first time in 20 years, with my family.

  • First game I went to was FSU at Miami in 2010.. great experience seeing us win big around many Cane fans.

First home game was against OU this past year. As you all know, the atmosphere was electric. Even though we loss, it was great finally seeing a game at Doak.

  • I became a Nole fan in 91. It wasn't until my first year at FSU in 2002 that I got to see my first game. Against Duke and I was absolutely overwhelmed by the whole game day experience. To be honest I remember very little of the game except for the incredible feeling of walking out to my seats and seeing the field for the first time.

  • I have been going to games my whole life. I don't really remember because I was so young and had to call my parents to ask them. My first game ever was in 1989 in Jacksonville against Southern Miss. Brett Farve was QB for them back then and we actually lost that game. My first home game was against Tulane that same season.

  • First game was FSU/Miami 2009. Steamy, humid, Monday night game on Labor Day. I'll never forget it - I was a freshman, I knew nothing of FSU football until then. Even though we lost (there was :01 left, I don't care what anyone says), I'll never forget the atmosphere in Doak that night.

  • First game was at Maryland when Myron Rolle won the Rhoades Scholarship. It was about 5 degrees, but we dominated.

First game in Tally was in 2010 vs Clemson when DHop hit the 55 yd FG to win it!!

  • FSU vs. Abilene Christian in 1954. We've come a long way since then.I remember back in the early sixties they let us go down to the end zones and play catch before the games started.

  • My first game was actually one of the greatest FSU games: FSU v VTech in Sugar Bowl (99-2000) and we won the natty.

I have been in love ever since.

  • I believe it was La. Tech 1999.

  • December 1967, we tie Penn State 17 all in the Gator Bowl. Sellers sets several bowl records for receptions, one or two of which may still stand for all I know. I believe the Nittany Lions were pretty heavily favored, but Corch Pete put the ball in the air and I'm pretty sure it was Steve Tensi?? who slung it all over the place. I was in the South end zone about 80-90 rows up, and couldn't hear a gol-danged thing. I remember screaming along with everybody else, and having a great time. It was cold, but a dude gave me - a 16 year old kid, a drink of his beer, and his hottie GF hugged my neck after almost every play that went in our favor. She was healthy too. I then and there pretty much decided the U of F could go hang.....THIS Laddy-Buck was goin' to college where they had women who were friendly boyo!
