Here is where people are going to look back and want to say "I told you so."
If Jameis is a starter in the OFer or the closer he will miss the occasional spring practice. The baseball team starts ACC play on March 8 and between March 15 and April 13 they play 3 ACC away series.
If he is not a starter or contributor then he can probably get away with missing away series and some midweek games.
BTW, he has to be on a football scholarship, there is no choice in the matter.

If he isn't the closer and doesn't start in the OF he will miss some baseball games for practice.
FSU plays three ACC away series during spring practice where they usually fly out around 1pm on Thursdays. Martin isn't leaving his starting CFer or closer at home for ACC baseball series so he can attend football practice.

No other choice, says who. You mean to tell me that you can't give a kid a baseball scholly and they walk on to the football team, something Kyle Long considered doing. It just happen to be that Winston accepted the football scholarship and walked on for baseball
And why does there have to be a " I told you so " .it seems you have already decided that Winston WILL not participate in Spring football. Hell who knows if he will be a contributor for baseball right now.

If you are at FSU on a scholarship for any sport other than football and you walk on the football team your scholarship becomes a football scholarship.
In the case of Kyle Long because he signed a baseball scholarship in the early periold he could not have played football at FSU even as a walk on for two years.
That stops schools from signing kids to a scholarship in a smaller sport in the early period and them moving them to football.
If you play football you are on a football scholarship, that is it. It is your only choice.

I guess you missed it as well... you can be on scholly for one sport and walk on to another. Hence the choice was Winstons. He could have taken a baseball scholly ( depending if available)and walked on to football. I never said a player can be on scholly for 2 sports. Go back and read my post again

If all my posts lay out the same scenario thats not more ifs.
As for looking up the information for you, I am not going to do it. Its a rule used to prevent schools from signing kids to scholarships in lesser sports and putting them on the football team.
If you play two sports in college your scholarship will be in the sport with the most scholarships. Since football is always going to have more than any other sport if you play football and anything else you are on a football scholarship. If you run cross country and play basketball you are on a basketball scholarship.

Anything could happen, except Winston not playing baseball at FSU as long as he wants to.....lol.
I'm not trying to argue with you, he said countless times that he was coming to FSU to play both and had numerous conversations with JF and MM. They always had a plan and that plan was to play both.

Hey FSUgoNoles24--
I WAS WRONG. It appears Winston will probably miss the VT series. Not likely to miss anything else from what I'm told.
Now, he may not be starting, but regardless he will miss VT and I thought that wasn't going to happen.
I hate when people cannot admit they were wrong, so I wanted to man up here.
