Why This Season is a GOOD Thing..

  • It has been a rough season for FSU fans but I think that it will turn out to be great for the program. My reason for saying this... We want a great PROGRAM and not just a good TEAM! Last year we had a good team and we wanted desperately for the PROGRAM to be back. This season and TEAM demonstrates that there will have to be some to tough decisions to make in order to achieve the status the program desires. We have seen many schools have good TEAMS but fail to continue the success needed to build the PROGRAM. (Arizona would be the latest example). This season has exposed the need for overall improvement in the program because if closely examined there are some patterns of inconsistency, lack of development and strategic implementation. I know that injuries have played a role but there are still other systemic issues that have had an impact as well.

I hope that we salvage this season but also take the steps necessary to restore the PROGRAM!

I think there is a lot of truth to this... But do you think that if we do end up salvaging the season (for example winning out) that Jimbo will still be forced to make those tough decisions that will deliver us greatness or do you think (which I believe to be true) that he will consider it another "good" season and good enough to forego making any of the changes that need to be made that will take us to the next level?

  • Great question.....I hope that the decisions have been made that changes are needed regardless of how we finish. An objective assessment is needed because people will need to be reassured that the MNC is the ultimate goal. I can't honestly say that "no changes" will send that message.

  • There are a lot of positive aspects that could come from our current situation, it will depend on how we respond to complete the season and what we do after the season to make sure this doesn't happen again.
