Which game will be harder to win, uf or clemson?

  • I'm actually going to clemson on this one. Something tells me they know this the best year they have had in 2 decades to be a legitimate title contender. They start with UGA if memory serves me correctly, so they should have a good idea what they are working with.

I kinda think uf is going to need to overachieve to catch the magic they had last year.

  • UF, Clemson still isn't good on the DL which is one of the few units that can beat our sqaud. Clemson wont get after our QB, Florida will. Clemson's DBs are bad as well and with Nuk gone we can bracket Sammy with Darby in man coverage and I bet he has a ho-hum game.

  • Clemson will be tougher.

UF lost waaaay too much on defense to be much of a problem IMO. With Elam/Floyd/LBs gone we should run the score up imo

UF and it's not even close. The atmosphere at both will be as hostile and crazy as it gets, so no point in even bringing it up.

In terms of the actual teams we'll be facing, Clemson lost arguably it's best OL in Dalton Freeman, it's #1 TE in Brandon Ford, it's #1 WR in Nuk Hopkins, and it's #1 RB in Andre Ellington. Outside of Tajh Boyd and Sammy Watkins that offense doesn't scare me. People also seem to forget that almost every score or big play from them was in garbage time or some crazy trick play. Our offense man handled them last year and I haven't seen anything to suggest that this year will go any different. Remember we were up 3 scores on Clemson late in the 4th.

I think it's foolish for some people here to downplay UF's defense. As long as Will Muschamp is there and they have that kind of talent they'll put out a very good defense. Their offense, however, is just about on par with what Clemson's defense is. Also remember they ran us out of our own building just a few months ago. I'd also much rather go in to a hostile environment playing a team with an awful defense than a team with a very good one.

Clemson just does not scare me at this moment.

The previous year, Clemson lost 4 starting offensive lineman and their #1 TE in Dwayne Allen and their #3 WR Jaron Brown.

UF lost 3 starting down lineman, 3 starting LBs and 2 safeties.

But if we're going to say that UF's defense is going to be good as long as Muschamp is there, we need to say the same thing about Clemson's offense with Chad Morris.

  • Just went and looked at UF's depth chart and man did they get hit hard by leaving talent. They have three bad ass DEs though and one semi-elite DT in Easley. Will be very interesting to see what kind of health shape they are in come last week of November because FSU has twice the depth.

Same thing at LB as well.

They only lost 3 OL starters in 2011 I think. Brandon Thomas started 10 games for them that year and was an All-ACC OL last year. But regardless, they still lose 3 of their top 4 offensive weapons. And it's not like those 4 put a whoopin' on us last year. Sammy Watkins had 61 total yards. 88 for Hopkins (60 of which came on a bomb on their first drive), 69 for Ford (43 of which were in garbage time), and about 140 for Ellington who was the focus of their trick play offense that night.

UF's defense will feel losing Floyd, Elam, Jenkins, and Bostic. But they'll still roll out a good DE/Buck rotation with Powell, Bullard, and Fowler. Leon Orr, Damien Jacobs, and Easley will be a good 3 man DT rotation but after that they're looking rough in the interior. Michael Taylor, Antonio Morrison, and Kitchens is a good LB trio. I have a feeling with their depth at corner and the addition of Hargreaves they'll be able to roll out a quality back 4.

Plus, my point still stands that I'd much rather go in to a hostile environment and play a team that sucks on defense than a team that is at least competent on that side of the ball.

  • Clemson. Will be the ACC GOTY and it means much more than the UF game for how are season will go. We haven't won there in 12 years. They will be better on defense and about the same on offense. We will be extremely lucky to win. Anybody downplaying how good Clemson can be next year is making the same mistake LSU did.

  • Lots of disagreement here. Not sure myself but the old phrase "take one game at a time" really describes both Clemson and FSU this year. Clemson pays UGA and USCe this year with UGA to kick off the season. Add in FSU and their schedule ain't that bad. Tougher than ours on paper right now IMO.

If Clemson loses to UGA, our game with them could end their ACC and title runs. I'd LOVE to do that to them at their place. They definitely have a better chance to get back into it with one loss.
