Where things stand with Ramsey

Brentwood (Tenn.) Brentwood Academy four-star cornerback Jalen Ramsey has kept a low profile in recent weeks. On Tuesday, his father spoke about where things stand.

  • Sounds like he is sticking with USC to me. I think Pruitt would do wonders with him!

  • cant wait till he is here but damn does it get old reading these comments about still evaluating and such. How do you say you are commited to one school and weighing your options in the same breath?

everyone involved in this process needs a refresher course on what it means to commit.

I personally dont think it speaks of high character, no matter who the recruit is, which is a head scratcher because Jalen in this case seems to be a stand up dude.

  • What's FSU's academics like?

I had heard that Jalen and his father put education really high up there. As it pertains to education, USC is a top 25 school in the Nation. I'm not really familiar with FSU nor UF, though.

  • This has got to boad well for FSU in my opinion. If he was firm and was dead set on USC i think they would of just announced that he is sticking and thats that. He is obviously still thinking about what he should do!

Generally speaking, not as trong as USC, but really depends on the major. Anyone know what Jalen wants to major in?

It makes no sense for him to go to UF, though.

    1. Florida, I have been told, only fields one CB on the field at a time. I don't know how that's possible, but several Gator fans on tBB have said this.

    2. CB Hargreaves, who's also part of this class, is better than Ramsey, so the latter will have to wait a long time for playing time, barring an injury to the former.

    3. Jalen will most likely start as a true freshmen at USC.

    4. Jalen flew out to CA to stay with USC commit Chris Hawkins during the Thanks Giving Weekend. This trip, by the way, was an early Christmas present from Jalen's parents.

    5. He's really, really good friends with Chris Hawkins, Su'a Cravens, and Leon McQuay lll, all of whom are USC commits and EE's.

    1. We play nickel 80% of the time with 5 DBs on the field. Usually have 2 CBs and a nickel. The best 5 DBs will star

    2. Vern and Ramsey are different types of corners. Again the best 5 will play

    3. Probably because you have no depth. He will play as a fresh at UF and likely start year 2

    4. Cool

    5. He is really good friends with Nick Washington and Demarcus Robinson. Plus HS teammate Staver is a QB commit.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see who gets him, then.

Jalen's father, via twitter, pretty much put Max Staver on blast about a week ago, saying that he needs to stop spreading rumors about Jalen going to UF and that he and Jalen are not friends. He went out of his way to tell Twitter-world that his son and Max aren't friends; that speaks volumes.

Anyway, you raised good points. Both teams have a good shot at landing him. At the end of the day, none of us really knows what's going on in Jalen's head, except for Jalen.

Uh, okay. That was exactly my point. USC has no depth at that position, giving Jalen a really good chance at starting as a true freshmen.
