I was offered a scholly in 1955 by FSU, but went north to play for Michigan (the REAL UofM). When I came back to Florida after grad degress and a stint in the Army, I was amazed at how many people in South Florida bragged on the Gators, when they had done nothing on the field up to that time. Besides, it seemed every mayor, judge, lawyer, member of Congress and the most affluent citizens all claimed to be Gators. When the Great Robbery took place and Gator fans chortled about how the refs screwed the 'Noles, I made up my mind I would cheer for, support, and acknowledge FSU as my shared favorite team.
I now live in North Carolina, but I'm at most of the games up this way, including Georgia Tech and Clemson, whenever the 'Noles are around here.
Soooo, that's why I'm here and why my handle is GarGold.

Grew up in NY. Fan since 91 (7 grade starter jacket!). Dream to go to FSU came true. Graduated BS in bio in 01. Became first FSU grad ever accepted to Columbia Dental School. Now practicing in Vermont (wife).
I am a booster. A booster ambassador for Vermont. I make it to one home and away game every year. My German shepherd is named Bowden. I have been a lurker on TOS since 98. I spend countless hours a day online in regards to FSU. I live and breathe NOLES every day. So proud to be a part of the family.

Huge fan my whole life (many family members attended)
First game was against Southern Miss in Jacksonville (1989) when I was seven.
Bachelor of Arts: Political Science 2005
Master's of Public Administration 2009
Volunteer Intern with Seminole Boosters during Grad School
Booster and Season Ticket Holder
Cried after almost every significant loss between 1990-2000 (the Jeff Bowden years toughened me up and taught me how to take a loss on the chin like a man, I can only hope that after a few years with Fisher that I will go back to crying after infrequent losses)

No friends or family ties whatsoever to FSU.
I just found a love for FSU football as a kid watching them on TV all the time. My dream was to go to FSU, but out of state tuition was too expensive, plus I was offered a full scholorship to play JUCO baseball.
Just this past year I became a booster also.
