Would you rather see your team trot out 22 mid-4-star players, or 17 mid-3-star players with 5 high-level 5-stars sprinkled in?
I know some 3-stars turn out amazing (Werner) and some 5-stars bust (Rouse).
So for this thought experiment, assume all the players turn out in college to be exactly what their high school rating would predict.
So, I'd guess the team of 22 4-stars would essentially be 22 mid-round draft picks, say rounds 3-6, with a couple of second rounders. The team of 3- and 5-stars consists of 17 players who are low-rounders or undrafted free agents or just decent players with maybe arena ball potential, with 5 guys who go in the first round.
Also, if you take the team with the 5-stars, what positions do they play?
I'm going with the 3- and 5-stars. And I'm putting my 5-stars at QB, WR, DT, and both cornerbacks.

I would want 5 5 stars, 15 4 stars and 5 3 stars in a class of 25.
Good chance the 5 stars become all-stars. Most of the 4 stars become starters, some become back-ups. The 3 stars would provide depth.
Of course, it all depends on evaluation. How many Bjoern Werners are there in the 3 stars?

What kind of team would you prefer?
