Last week, we began an analysis of each position group to determine which school has done the best in recent years of producing top NFL draft picks.
We began that series with this look at the schools who have excelled in producing quarterbacks.
For our analysis, we used the last 15 years of the NFL draft. In each draft, we looked for defensive linemen who were drafted in the first three rounds. For the purpose of this analysis, we included all players listed as defensive ends, defensive tackles and nose tackles in the NFL.com draft history web site.
To be clear, there are some players listed in draft rolls as linebackers who went on to play defensive end at the NFL and vice versa. We looked solely at players considered as linemen at the time of the draft.
Below the school rankings we also have more data on schools and conferences that have produced defensive linemen at football’s highest level. Plus, we have more interesting information on the defensive line position group.
We use 15 years of NFL draft data to find colleges who have developed defensive linemen. Florida State, LSU and North Carolina are among that group. How do they rank?

Wouldn't have expected us to be #1. I think us and LSU will only continue to widen that gap in the future with all the studs we both have.
Show this to every DL recruit and other defensive recruits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Won't stop with this group of 3....Tank, Werner, and Jenkins this year.
Other years: Jernigan, Edwards Jr, Casher, McAllister, Goldman, Bryant, etc.
My very first instinct was LSU, but I think that FSU makes a run here in the next couple of years. Embarrassment of riches.
When I clicked on it I said to myself, if FSU isn't #1 then I'm not reading any further lol. Glad to see they got it right!
Also if Jimbo sticks around for a while I see us being Quarterback U too.
FSU have been or are currently everything U imo Dline, Oline, LB, DB, WR, RB, QB, Kicker

GO NOLES! / SCALP EM!
At least for the past few years, those rankings may be skewed against teams that run 3-4 defenses.

We really are KickerU. Is there another one team that is going to have 3 kickers in the NFL when Dustin gets on a team?
