There are a lot more pieces to this including keeping these games going (Clemson / South Carolina), (Georgia / Georgia Tech), (Florida / Florida State). And the return of (Texas / a&m), (Kansas / Misery). All these games are necessary for the schools, plus it could bring in huge $$$ for everyone.

    good point

My understanding is that, legally, a school can't talk about moving without already having been invited. Yes, this makes no sense, but I think it's actually how the contracts are written.

A conference will not offer a school. FSU has to let the ACC know that they are leaving and the apply to the Big12. The Big12 will then vote on the applications for acceptance. If FSU applies they know through back channels they will be accepted.

If a conference contacts a school still under contract, that conference can be sued for inducing a breach by the school it poached.

The game is rigged and reverse engineered.

Who is ever going to leave without knowing they have a new home?

No one. I said if it comes to the point of FSU applying for membership in the Big12, they know they are in - just not officially.

It's just they way it has to happen, legally.

(people who know people with the Big12 will have talked with people who know people with FSU)

He doesn't have a leg to stand on if the BOT want this, and they do allegedly.

  • Waiting for pben's take on this.

I know you (pben) have been pretty adamant about your stance, but this isn't a shot across the bow, this is an iceberg hitting the Titanic.

The SEC and BigXII have now shown their hand. The money is going to be in the hands of the conferences, and you are either going to be in, or on the outside looking in.

Don't be shocked if you see a Pac12-Big10 deal, quickly followed by Pac10-BigXII, Pac-10-SEC, Big10-BigXII, Big-10-SEC deals shortly, securing all the bowl games worth watching...and thus all the real money.

A few 'traditional' bowls may actually end up going the way of the Dodo.

PAC12-B1G all ready has a deal...The Rose Bowl. Not sure you'll see secondary bowls agreed to though. I could see Big East/ACC and smaller conferences agreeing to similar deals.
