Canolee obviously puts a lot of time into these post and I have nothing against his work, but he has to learn to respect others opinions. He also needs to understand that putting yourself you opinion out there will bring critics. There are just to many people on the internet to make everyone happy

The people laughing at Canolee for allegedly saying Stork is better than the Bama center are misreading him. Some people can't do subtlety, I guess.

Canolee never said "Stork > Bama center".

What he said was, in effect: "Everybody says the Bama center is great, and Stork gets far less respect. But from my having watched Stork all season, and having watched the Bama center for every rep in one game, if the Bama guy is really better, I didn't see it. In fact, based on what I saw, Stork LOOKS like the better player." Canolee was forthcoming about how little he has watched the Bama player, and Canolee also affirmatively indicated the Bama guy might well have been hurt.

That is not the same as saying Stork is the better player.

Based on that, Canolee has speculated that Styork might turn out to be as good or better, and might exceed expectations, while the Bama guy might fail to meet expectations. And he has done so in the very, very clear context that he understands it would be surprising if this happened, that it was in fact quite unexpected for him to watch film and conclude what he concluded--that Stork looked better.

I don't doubt that, in the film Canolee has watched, Stork overall looked better, and that this surprised Canolee.

People who are mocking Canolee misread what he's saying. I am confident that, in the film Canolee has seen, Stork looks a little better. I am NOT confident that this means Stork is now, and forever will be, the better player. But I don't think Canolee is confident of that either. Not based on what he's said. That assertion is just not in any of his posts.

Personally, I think it's very interesting that the lower-rated player looked better than the higher-rated player in limited snaps. It was limited snaps, so it's not a guarantee. It's just interesting, and that's all Canolee ever really said.

I definitely wouldn't have made the comparison with Stork, if I knew Jones was playing hurt.

andy, I haven't seen any film on Baker. I'll check it out. Jones played with good leverage, although Geathers was 6'6 himself, so maybe Nix(squattier) will be a better matchup to test your theory. Thanks for the contributions in the thread.
