  • What are we doing differently on offense?

We had 90 against UNC and 84 against Maryland; two quality teams. We seem to break the press more easily too.

Is a result of less turnovers?

  • We had 17 turnovers against UNC and 9 against UMD. I think having Ian Miller back helped a lot. And Dulkys playing out of his mind against UNC.

I think a lot of hit has to do with the success in the half-court offense. The forwards are doing a far better job of setting screens for guys like Dulkys, Miller and Snaer, leading to more open and in rhythm shots. Doesn't hurt that they've seen them go down too.

While the North Carolina performance was something truly different, I found tonight's game more impressive offensively. Instead of relying on a shooter who was (even on a good night) playing over his head, four 'Noles finished in double figures, and three of them are the guys you expect in Miller, Snaer and James.

Dulkys' contributions were huge Saturday, but they can't be considered consistent until further notice (even with a solid effort tonight again).

The true answer to your question is a little bit of everything. Turnovers have been cut down, the press has been broken with poise from Loucks, the bigs' presence in the paint is worlds better than it was up in Clemson. And finally, when the shooters are open, they are burying a healthy percentage of shots. I think it all started back with Bernard James' effort in Virginia Tech. That kind of raw, physical style has found its way around the entire locker room, and they're all playing looser because of it.

  • Like I said if this team countinues to play like this they could win the ACC.

  • Sounds like they actually started practicing an offense in practice.

  • Without knowing $h!t about basketball, what does this mean for the future? Do we have a better outlook than we once did, and why? What is different about our team for the rest of the season.

For the record, I am making it a point to attend every home game and scream my ass off (extra intoxicated rockon) for the rest of the season.
