This same crew led by Jeff Flanagan......

  • Also worked the FSU-Clemson game this year. You may also recognize Jeff Flanagan from the 2009 FSU-Miami game. That's the one that ended 38-34 with FSU knocking on the goalline and after an incompletion 2 seconds should have been put back on the clock, however even after review they screwed it up......

  • Normally I say whatever we won but this is just rediculous. I just want to leave for another conference and watch the ACC schools cry that they are making millions less a year because they have zero big name teams for the most popular sport in the country.

The last part isn't true. I blatantly remember Ron Cherry officiating that game. In fact, in your picture that is Cherry's rotund frame just below the clock. If Flanagan was there, he wasn't the head ref. Maybe he's a Cherry disciple?

If that were Ron Cherry, he would be behind the QB as he is the head referee not along the endzone line.

I knew they reffed in one of our games. I was not sure which one. I only know that when we finally got the game on ESPN, I said "oh no" because I recall them being worse than Ron Cherry, if that is even possible.

  • Wow. That's hilarious. Why does it feel like refs aren't held accountable? Everyone always says "don't blame the refs". Why? Is this not their job? Do they not get paid to do this? Are they not supposed to be the top of their profession? I swear, it's like the only job in America where your quality of work can't be criticized. Not to mention they're effecting Jimbo's quality of work by doing their best to make us lose to Clemson and Miami. They're even given the ability to review the plays in slow-mo like everyone else sitting at home....what exactly is difficult about their job? Quite honestly, babysitting is a more difficult profession. I thought it was hilarious that the Joyner fumble they got right on the field and then somehow managed to screw it up in the booth. If you can't even make a good call with an official review then you should be fired instantly.

How often are refs fired/let go?

  • My bad on the ref. I think the BJ screwed us on a couple calls in that game and I asked myself is Ron Cherry doing this game and somehow that got stuck in my head. It's all a blur now anyways.

On another note, sigh Jarmon Fortson what could have been.
