Welp -- my two friends, who are active bloggers on hurricanes message boards, tell me an entirely different story.... But I honestly don't know enough about the situation to say with certainty.
What I can say is....
He passed Marylands vetting process.... He finished second to Venables for the Clemson DC job, so he passed theirs too.
Just watching the guy in interviews, he's clearly introverted and has zero desire to do a dance and jig in front of the camera... You can't be that way and be a head coach, unless your Bellichek....but he does seem like a straight shooter. A lot of the introverts get mistakenly labeled as a-holes... and rub people the wrong way... but it wouldn't surprise me if the guy isn't fiercely loyal to his players... and a great X's and O's coach. If anybody would understand what it's like to be introverted and forced into the limelight, it would be Jimbo... So I would understand if he had a soft spot.

Wouldnt make much sense for Ward to come here, but you never know the situation he is in there or what goes on behind the scenes. You would think USCjr could pay him anything we would. Good coach though I would take him.
