Who thinks Winston will win the job?

I do...

Continue the tradition of Heisman winners starting with "W" while bringing us 3-4 years of wins.

But to be completely honest I want Coker to win job for two years (then he will go to NFL) then Winston will start for two years (then JJ or am I thinking to long term?)..... BUT that is my dream scenario.

Another part of my dream scenario is Trickett Jr. stays to be signal caller then becomes a GA.

I think he's very talented but playing baseball........will not help his development towards winning the position. I think other positions can do it but QB.....is much different. We'll see!

I think it'll either be him or Coker.

Formation has little to do with scheme in this offense.

Scheme would refer better to the passing concepts and the QBs familiarity with them. Formation and personnel actually has fairly little to do with the core concepts of the office. Whether its 4 WR or 2 WR 2 TE, shotgun pistol or I form, four verticals is four verticals (not a concept we run often, but an example).

Think Winston will win the job, if Coker couldn't beat out Trickett last yr, don't know how he is going to this time around.

Worst case scenario if Jimbo doesn't give it to who is the best. If he makes Trickett the starter for that reason. (Coker/Winston out perform Trickett in practice) I will lose my high hopes for Jimbo and say good riddance when that decision gets him fired.

b/c he had a bit of a learning curve. Clint might have been way ahead of him as to knowledge of Jimbo's system, but there's only so much to understand. With another year Coker, b/c he had so much more information to learn, might have closed that knowledge gap considerably, which combined with his superior physical gifts would allow him to pass Clint this year.

Regardless, I personally expect Clint to be the starter for the 1st game, though not for the entire year.

as a HC do you name the starter based on only immediate considerations (read: NOW) or do you also consider longer-term things, e.g., for FSU which starter gives us the best chance to win in 2014+, who will transfer, etc.?
