    I also thought it was strange that Saban was going to sign a piece of paper and make him sign it too as a pseudo commitment in the interim. Mind games on a HS kid.

    13.2.3.3 After Completion of Senior Year. An institution may arrange for employment or employ any prospective
    student-athlete (regardless of athletics award winner status), provided the employment does not begin
    prior to the completion of the prospective student-athlete’s senior year in high school. (See Bylaw 13.12.1.5.1.)

  • I actually think Saban will stick to his word and bring him in for the 2013 class. It is shady of Saban to pull this stunt though. The Ga press has been ripping Alabama to shreds over it.

  • So is this a grey shirt basically? Can't rip Saban too bad, we tend to greyshirt a kid every couple years...we did it with Aguayo this year. I think it should have been done sooner, but heck we didn't tell Aguayo until a couple weeks ago that we wanted him to greyshirt. I do guarantee its because he got hurt & wouldn't have played next year anyway.

    I wondered who the other guy who is having to wait is gonna be. Somebody else greyshirting or not qualifying due to grades? Article said Saban told the kid he could only sign 25, but yet they have 27 commits...also, does that mean they are done? If they somehow pulled Eddie Goldman, would they have to greyshirt or place 3 guys? Getting kinda dicey IMO.

    I think it's two different situations. This kid was one of their first commitments for over a year and they just RECENTLY told him he was going to greyshirt. They have room for Yeldon but not this kid?
