I dunno. I have to think NFL teams aren't stupid enough to not connect the dots here. He said he talked to her for hours each night. He was supposed to be a high first round pick, with the title game possibly bringing that down. Would you risk a high or even a mid first on this guy? Didn't look good at all against SEC talent. Couldn't get off blocks at all. And now he's either narcissistic, clinically insane, or a pathological liar? I don't know. I wouldn't.

I think he hooked up with this "online" chick who targeted him, was embarrassed about it so played it off like he met her in real life...meanwhile she probably bilked him out of soem $$$ and other stuff, and when enough was enough cut him loose.
Whether I am right or not, bottom line ESPN needs to cut out these BS "Human interest" stories..report the game, unless its AJ McCarron's GF is the subject, in which case I am 100% onboard with that.

Obviously, any NFL team that is considering investing ~$50M in him will hire a private investigator and get this all figured out. If he's lying, I think he'll be advised to come clean.

It doesn't even matter if he's lying or was a complete victim.
Take someone who falls for something like this, drawl a circle around him.Take someone who can read/anticipate Brady, Manning, Rodgers, Luck, etc..... and drawl a circle around him.
Do the circles intersect? No.
Is the wind blowing East? Take a grenade and throw it out the window.
No sound? He will never be a good NFL linebacker.

I disagree. Too much is made of "intelligence" in football. Yes, football intelligence and instincts are necessary. But it is very, very different than intelligence in the real world.

Buddy of mien made a good point today, he said if he was advising him, he should just come out claim he was gay, and thus because he felt the sports world would not be accepted had to make these drastic measures.
Turns the whole thing around. Then one day he marries some bikini model, and she can claim she "flipped" him (of course assuming he isn't really gay).
