    Washington (DC) Friendship Collegiate Academy cornerback Jalen Tabor caught up with Noles247 to discuss recruiting and how signing Eddie Goldman was big for the Seminoles.

  • He will be a high five star. One of the best players on the Eastern Seaboard as a Sophomore.

  • You're going to see more and more 5/4 stars popping up more regularly in the DMV. The youth football programs are running at an all time high, and kids are taking it 1,000,000x more seriously than they were 10-years ago. Hell, even the coaches/parents are starting to recruit at the elementary schools. My son brought home a flier to play for one of the teams yesterday, and he's in the 1st grade.

    Bush, you know your football so this is probably not new to you, but your son is better off playing flag football or other non-contact sports until high school. He'll still be schooled in the fundamentals (you'll see to that) and he will not accumulate all those extra hits.

    Back to FSU, Goldman's and Darby's signing may open up a pipeline for FSU for a generation as long as the results follow (and I'm confident they will).

    I disagree in terms of technique and fundamentals for line play, tackling, and footwork... Of you're playing a position in the backfield or LB getting used to seeing over people in pads hitting full speed and running at you full speed to knock your head off is an adjustment as well... The hits you take in peewee and middle school are very rarely violent enough to injure

    Just my 2 cents...

    Also very excited about this kid hopefully Eddie will have high praise... What are yalls thoughts on him seeing playing action this year? Do you think he will mimick TJs first year? I don see it, but I'm hoping he does

    FSU -->----->> The Unconquered Uprising

  • Being a youth football coach in the crazy state of Alabama kids start out at the age of 4 playing football.... most kids that young don't hit hard enough to cause head injuries... waiting til HS can make some kids very far behind. We played in the Centennial Bowl last year in Atlanta, they do flag football for the younger kids. Our 9 year holds were years ahead of them. But I do understand the concerns but the fact is that injuries can still happen in flag football just as easy as tackle.... if taught at the young ages the proper way to tackle the risk is lowered. It is all about the coaching at the young age and not wins... so be careful of who is coaching cause some are out there for their glory.... I am not saying tackle football is the way to go just saying that it isn't as bad as some say it is...
