Stork at Right Tackle?

  • Leighty said...

Don't tempt me. I can churn out some relatively well-written breakdowns, be hailed a guru, and be e-fellated by those who don't know any better with the best of them.

    "e-fellated?" That's a new one for me.

You don't need to be tempted. It's clear that your personality is one of criticism and deconstruction. You won't be producing or yielding value; it's apparently not in your nature.

Back on topic, the signs point to Stork starting at RT and that Faircloth will be the backup. However, those signs won't become more clear until fall.

Do it. Then maybe you would actually bring something to the board.

I think you missed the point of my post, which is that it doesn't really matter if you agree with him. People on this site (myself included) enjoy reading canolee's breakdowns and they provide value and entertainment.

If you are not bringing analysis of your own that is equally enjoyable, then I would guess that most posters would prefer you and Leighty not snipe on people that are enjoyable to read.

    Thanks in advance.

I happen to think swizz's snipes are entertaining.

Touche. It appears we are at an impasse. Shall we let the downvotes decide it, then?

I'm sorry, what are we deciding?

  • swizz and Leighty, definitely come and say hello this year at a game. I'll let you know which game I'll be at and I'll be wearing a #9 CaNOLEE jersey. We can have a nice conversation face to face.

And btw, you don't know any better.

You guys just post things like "you are wrong" or "you're an idiot" without ever adding anything constructive or backing up your points with facts.

We are all here to talk FSU football because we love it and want to see our kids do well on and off the field. With you guys, I'm not sure what your purpose is? I do know that misery loves company. Hopefully you gents get that worked out.

As for Stork at RT, it's interesting to say the least. I still think he is our Center. But maybe I should ask the two football god's if it's OK to have my own opinion.

If you can find a single post of mine where I've called you or any other poster an "idiot" or something of the like, I'll give you whatever dollar amount you can come up with.

OT, he is big, nasty, athletic and smart.

    canolee said...

Cloth gives you another converted DL with an attitude and athleticism on the edge.

This is your justification for starting Garrett Faircloth. I don't feel the need to refute your statement with facts when all you've presented is hyperbole and unquantifiable attributes.

It's perfectly fine to have your own opinion, as long as youre prepared to defend it. You can't because your entire opinion is based on caricature.

  • Sorry, you said it was "mind boggling" to have Cloth a starter at RT. Not "idiotic".

A kid that played RT in the spring game last year. A kid that played LT as a redshirt frosh. A kid that started 5-6 games last year at RG because of injuries to Spurlock.

And go watch the film, play by play and tell us what he did so poorly.

But having him penciled in as a starter at RT is the craziest thing of all time?

What's next, moving your second team 3tech to LT? Or your back up DE to TE? No way those things would ever happen. So why would you put your RG back to RT or your Center at RT? Mind boggling!!!

    canolee

  • Caricature??? Really?

You wouldn't even post a depth chart for the OL. If you are going to be a dick, at least have some balls too.

    canolee

  • btw, Cuth, St Auggie, fsufsu, thanks gents.

I spend a little bit of free time to break down the games because I love to do it.

If you don't agree with me, don't read them. It's as simple as that.

    canolee

  • I'll never understand the positions that Trickett puts players in. Stork wasn't even big enough to be a center, yet now hes a tackle. Matias is pretty much a prototype T, yet he's a G. Henry Orelus was a HS center, and a pure road grader, yet he was at tackle for a while. Krug was a road grading G and Trick wasted everyones time with putting him at C. It's all mind boggling.

How can you say that? His breakdowns during the year are some of the few truly valuable posts that come from general posters.

  • swizz, that is fair.

I do have my "types of players", as does Trickett and every other coach. So even though I try to be objective, maybe I give certain guys the benefit of the doubt, while others not so much.

And again, if my posts don't have any value, please don't read.

    canolee

  • Canolee please don't do what I do and get sucked in with these guys. Just add your piece and hang around and leave. Those who appreciate you will make it known.

  • fsufsu, I'm fine bud. biggrin

I have no problem with people seeing things in a different light, I want to learn or consider other perspectives as much as anyone.

But we are all fsu fans, so I try and treat everyone with respect and class. Actually, I treat fans of other teams the same way as long as they are respectful back.

  • Team Dan Foose at right tackle

    Leighty

  • Fine, Foose can have RT. I've seen the light, here is the new starting lineup.

LT-Joe Tonga, NCAA feels bad and gives Tonga Glauser's extra year.
LG-Krug, he beats Matius in a game of Twister with his bending prowess and earns the spot.
C-Bernard James, he turns 33 by the Florida game.
RG-Pettis, but instead of water during timeouts, Trey requests a keg be run out onto the field.
    RT-The Foose is loose

Wow you are capable of giving you opinion on a message board?

The only problem with that is jagoffs like Leighty will just shoot down everything you say, while threatening to be the most omniscient and omnipotent poster on the board, without actually contributing anything intelligent.

Perhaps you should realize that Faircloth was moved from tackle to guard, before proclaiming in a douchy tone "Why would a guy who plays guard all of a sudden start at Tackle?"

If you realized stuff like that, you wouldn't come across as a complete jagoff.

  • Canolee,

Do you mind comparing/contrasting what Faircloth, Hart and Stork bring to the RT position? Also, how do you expect them to perform compared to Zebrie Sanders? TIA

    dnanole

  • go, I was thinking about putting Snaer on the unit, that's funny. biggrin

02, In my best Jackie Moon voice "what that guy said". lol

    dna, here goes:

    1. Faircloth
+'s great length and athleticism, plays with energy, has played LT here showing you he can pass protect but also was able to get leverage on the interior on running plays, good intial quickness and excellent foot speed for cut off.
-'s coming off an injury, needs a little more bulk
*basically I like his competitiveness and athleticism and think he can give us a boast in the running game with his skill set and effort

    2. Hart
+'s natural pass protector, quick feet, lower body flexibility, smooth athlete, wants to be good
-'s most of his errors last year were mental(penalties or missed assingments), not really physical yet in the running game despite his enormous back side
*I just think he could use another year in the S&C which would most likely make him more physical. I think the game slowing down with more experience will eliminate the MA's

    3. Stork
+'s toughness, good athlete, excellent leg drive and leverage player for run blocking
-'s learning a new position, shorter arms for pass pro
*until we all see him at OT, you wonder if he has the length to pass protect. He has played TE in HS, so he has some experience with blocking on the edge, but ACC DE's are a different animal. He will definitely give it his all, I just see better options at RT come the fall and think Stork is still our best Center.

What Zebrie gave us at RT was dependability first and foremost. He was there every saturday and he rarely made a mistake. He also had a great frame and engulfed DE's in pass pro(sometimes he was whilsted for it rightly or wrongly). In the run game, he was solid, but I think lacks the foot speed of Cloth, Stork, even Glauser which allows you to cut off and create cut back lanes for the backs(ie big plays).

It's going to be tough to replace Zeb, who is a likely 2ncd or early 3rd round pick. I just happen to think Cloth has the best combination of skills for the position, but him being hurt right now and missing Spring isn't helping his cause.

  • I am pretty sure that Dan Foose either does not exist, or was traded to Ron Zook by coach Viloria in exchange for a case of protein shakes and an ab roller.
