There is such a disparity in rankings with the main services. For instances, take EJ Leven berry. He gets 4 stars from all of them. However, look we're he's ranked nationally.

    247sports -- 231st in nation
    ESPN -- 286th in nation
    RIVALS -- 21st in nation!!!

Rivals, the stingiest of the three, would say Levenberry is by far the best LB in our class.

I've noticed drastic disparities with Bain, Stevenson, Baker and others. I don't get it. What are these scouts seeing?

I dont know much about recruiting but ine thing that i do know is that they are constantly evaluating kids so the rankings always change up until national signjng day and even then some kids ha ent been fully evaluated but that is becoming more rare since there is so much more coverage.

My stance is that i trust jimbo and this staff but other people who know more about recruiting and can pick out talent may disagree. Personally ill defer to jimbo and company because they get paid to do it and i like how they go about things. Also because i know almost nothing lol

I'm not basing it off of where each site has them ranked. Its me basing it off of watching their film Levenberry and Stevenson are very close but I like the was Stevenson moves around just a tad better.

I have to agree with you. I love all 4 LBs we've got right now, but Stevenson IMO (based on his film) is the best.

  • What's everyone's feeling on the other LB commit we have, Hopkins? Is he the weakest link so far, or the most upside??

I'm actually more excited for Hoskins than any LB we have committed right now not named EJ Levenberry. Not that I'm a talent evaluator or anything, but IMO he looks great on his highlights (I know, they're highlights) and looks to be a player with a considerably high ceiling.

  • What a crazy yet rewarding past couple of days. Assuming now that whatever heat wasn't on Matthew Thomas has officially been turned on. Does anyone really see him being in this class?

Do you think Hoskins ends up at DE at FSU???? He plays rush DE/LB for Evans and at 6'3", I feel like he has the frame to add weight and be a nice DE for us. Once Vic gets ahold of him I think the sky is the limit for Hoskins, whatever position he plays.

  • Hoskins is a long kid and looks like a legit 6-2. And like someone said, he looks like a true athlete on tape. Get some weight on him and I think you see him at SLB playing in the box. Hoskins has a ton of room to grow, but all the raw skills are there.

  • What was Miami and Florida thinking not offering this kid? He does everything. Shed blocks... check. Plants and explodes...check. Elite speed....check. Diagnoses quickly...check. Changes direction....check. Plays in space...check.

The only thing that I can think of is his height, because he's the most complete LB I've seen so far.

And his speed in special. At RB, he runs away from DB's that have the angle. That is impressive at any level.

He could be the final LB added. FSU is now able to central their focus on this kid (Johnson's teammate).

I agree. Put 20 pounds on him and he is Reuben Foster. As he stands today, Stevenson is a stud. FSU's LB haul is crazy good regardless of where Thomas ends up.

  • These last 4 recruits have had light (quality) offer lists.

Maybe we are going to take 6 lb's after all.

I trust all non ol evaluations but this streak is puzzling.

Where a recruiting service puts them is a non factor. Look at Baker, espn has him in the top 200.

He reminds me of a decent backer that once played for FSU: Ernie Sims.

Which is (predictably) ironic, because the OL has two of our top rated commitments.

  • Ganguzza, snider sanderson, Glauser (granted a hell of alot better than the previous 3)

the new ol recruit did not have one SEc offer. not even ole miss.
What does that mean? We have 2 ol recruits everyone wants and one not even bad SEC teams want. He may be good. however, after the past 5 years, I trust offer lists far more than Trickett evals.

Alex, I'll take what was 78th in rushing and 110th in pass blocking for $1,000.

Forget 247 on Stevenson, they missed the boat. Dude is a monster and should be an easy 4-star. Fastest LB we have committed and hits like Sims. If you are unhappy with the 4 LB's....well recruiting may not be for you. 4 studs.
    On Hoefield- #7 ranked center.

Don't pay attention to offer lists or scout's evals at this point. Watch the film and trust your own eyes. Hoefeld has a lot of Ira Denson in him. He absolutely does not stop until the whistle blows. Like Denson he seems to enjoy humiliating the opposition. They both have a nastiness, a tenaciousness that you can't teach.

You're another who STILL doesn't trust Trickett. Wow. ONE thing Denson, Gholson, and Hoefeld (AND Tunsil) have in common is that they LOVE Trickett. But you don't. Hm. To each his own.

  • Offer lists tell you more about a player than rankings, IMO. Each service seems like have different criteria. Rivals for instance want recruits to come to their camps to rank them. We have all seen one recruit have a good showing and drop in the rankings and then another have a poor showing and rise in the rankings.

  • Tnole, I have you on ignore, but it doesn't help when everyone keeps quoting you. At the end of the day, you are just hopelessly bent on peddling your agenda at every opportunity. It's really tiresome.

Despite knowing you can't comprehend, I can't resist noting that 2 of the 4 you mentioned are injury disquals and one has yet to have the opportunity to play a single damn down of football yet since he just signed.

If I give you $5, will you go start a blog about Trickett and never come back?

  • I don't think he is as violent as Sims, few are. But he is exactly what you need at LB these days. Heat seeking missiles that can also run and cover.
