lol the meltdown of AU fans in the DC thread is great. most of the posts are premium but from the responses the non-prems are giving theres a lot of unhappy campers over there

He's one of the best recruiters on our staff, and has pulled big time players out of Georgia and Alabama for us.

Comes down to his ability to go into Alabama and get good players. He has done nothing as a coach yet, but there is great hope.

Oh Ok. If he's the main reason why you guys have considerable success recruiting in Alabama than I can definitely see why he is wanted. Its not easy taking players from Auburn and Alabama in their state.

He's the recruiting coordinator. He played for Auburn and is loved by a lot of people in that state. His success speaks for itself.

Last year he landed three of the top ten recruits in Bama.
Winston, Casher, and Shanks. So he goes head to head with Saban and lands his share of top recruits in Bama... which is hard to do.
So glad he is staying.... Awesome !!

Many wanted him badly and the thought that he turned down more money just adds to their already meltdown of a season. Imagine if FSU went 0-8 in conference play, then offered more money to Charlie Ward but he wouldn't leave Wake Forest to come back to FSU

The other big reason in my mind is perception. We've lost 3 coaches so far but they have all been getting very significant promotions, Craig would of been making a lateral move with a likely pay raise. Really didn't want to see that type of precedent set at FSU.
