Sooooo Who do we play and in what bowl???

  • Personally, Id love to tear into some of that sweet Irish cream-puffs. ND gets a lot of national attention and we could use a good national audience to show case to Peat and whoever else calls themselves an O-lineman because damn every big play we get is Zebrie hold, Krug off-sides or something counterproductive. We have some talent but an upgrade is necessary to compete at the highest level. Oh major shout out to the defense awesome show of strength to pitched the shutout no Thomas fumble no points for the gaytors at all be proud of yourselves guys, God bless and Go Noles.

  • Vt wins we play in Chicken vs Auburn

Clemson wins we play in Champs vs ND

  • If possible, I'd like to see us and Texas. ND would be a good match up, but we've played them before. I don't know if we've ever played Texas.

Pretty sure this went out the window when we lost to UVA last week, unfortunately.

  • Personally somehow id love to play georgia....i think that would be a great match up

  • I would be very, very confident against ND. They have poor QB play and their best RB Jonas Gary is out for the year.

Would be great to play them in the Champs, other than the fact that is is played December 29th at 5:30.

Cierre Wood is their best RB, not Gary. More importantly, if you think ND has poor QB play then you haven't watched much ND football. Reese has outperformed EJ by a factor of 10-1 this year.

    ND may beat us.

  • I think it's gray? Got his mcl shot by BC last week towards the end of the 3rd or beginning of the 4th. I'll take the NOLES against Tommy Rees and his skills. I've seen some dipshi; t plays by him this year against subpar comp to give me confidence.

    Jonas Gray 6.9 YPC 12 TD's
    Cierre Wood 5.4 YPC 9 TD's

If you don't know how to spell the QB's name, I'm not sure you've watched much ND football either. Rees was 6 for 13 for 60 yards 0 TD's and 1 pick and 1 fumble lost against Stanford tonight. He also led his team to 14 points against BC at home. The same BC that we scored 28 points in the first half against. I'm no expert about Notre Dame, but I do know for a fact that they historically play a weak slate of defenses.

Notre Dame could beat us, but I would feel very confident against them.

  • Jeff, we need to get together for a drink in O-town at the end of December if we go to the champs sports bowl. I'd like to throw a few back, broman. (No homo)

I've watched every ND game that's been on TV the last three years, and most before then. I also drank every bit of alcohol in my house last night and was drunk and fabulous by the time I posted.

I'll say this--ND's offense is way better than UF's, and Wood is ND's feature back. Plus, Floyd will be the best WR we've seen since Watkins, and of the three teams with elite WRs that FSU has faced, eventually the WRs burned us. But obviously, ND hasn't played a defense like FSU's, so Rees could be running for his life all game long.

There are actually many points of comparison between FSU and ND that make me think FSU has a slight edge, but that that the game can go either way. Both Jimbo and BK are in their second year as HC, and the schedule is somewhat similar--ND played BF, WF, and Maryland. Like FSU, ND rolled Maryland, and unlike FSU, ND beat WF on the road. But like you mentioned, BC gave ND fits, unlke FSU.

Something ND did that FSU didn't do, however, is beat a ranked team (they beat #14 MSU.) And other than the opening game against USF, ND didn't have any unexpected/disappointing losses--all of their losses were to ranked teams (Michigan, USC, Stanford).

  • Can't make it to Atlanta this year (I did last year), really hope we play in the CSB.

  • I think ATL is a pipe dream at this point. With the season we had I will be perfectly happy making the trip to Orlando for the Champs

Ocho &Tally read the web and articles we are still very alive for the chicken bowl

1 Auburn is the leader right now for the game from SEC
2 if VT wins they will not want a rematch with Clemson - plus they open the season against each other in Atlanta next year
3 - so it is us GT or UVA for the chicken if VT wins and we are the most likely

  • FSU vs ND in the Champs unless something unexpected happens.

I was just giving you a hard time. You definitely know your Notre Dame football. Floyd is an elite WR, but with 3 weeks of prep, I'm pretty confident Stoops would be able to scheme to contain him. Or at least slow him down. We did do fairly well against Streeter, who is a poor mans Floyd.

I definitely want the match up though and you are right, ND could easily beat us. I just have little to no respect for midwest/Big 10 football, and think they wouldn't be able to handle our speed.

And Ryno, yea if we play in the Champs, beer offer accepted. Just don't expect me to ride the teacups with you at Disney World. haha

  • CFA is definitely possible. They may not want a Clemson team treading water.

  • The CFA Bowl can happen. It is the SEC's 5th bowl selection. With several SEC teams going to a BCS bowl, Auburn is looking to be that team.

If Clemson loses, no way they take Clemsom and Auburn. It would be a rematch. Plus, Clemson and Auburn playin the CFA kickoff game in 2012.

    JMO of course.

  • Like someone said...the CFA bowl is SEC #5. Thats right about where Auburn would be. Now if UGA beats LSU and SEC has 3 teams in a BCS bowl then that might change things. Auburn and Clemson have already played twice in the last year. They wouldnt want that for a third time. FSU would be their next choice due to the amount of fans we would bring.

They cant have 3 BCS teams, only 2 teams from a conference can make a bcs bowl. If UGA beats LSU, either LSU or Bama are going to be left out
