So, If Tebow ends up on your favorite NFL team...

  • ... are you gonna pull for him? I gotta be honest, I'm HOPING he ends up in Jacksonville. Green Bay is my favorite and I'd like to keep Flynn, but if he leaves I'm OK with Tebow showing up. But I honestly hope he lands in Jacksonville, my 1b home-town team because I think it'd be good for the team in a couple of ways.

Let's have a final decison ... is it OK to pull for the NFL version of Tebow?

  • He is already a Jet

  • I would hate for my team to get Tebow because he's not a good QB.

Flynn already left for the Seahawks

  • I am a big jets fan. I am torn between rooting for sanchez to do well and jets win, so he sits the bench vs never rooting for the jets again.

    NYNOLE2

  • I would root for him if he came to the jags, but it'd only be if he changed positions. (moot point now, just giving my opinion)

  • If he was traded to the Eagles I would burn all of the Eagles clothes I have and never root for them again. Ever.

Same here, and i am not kidding in the slightest. That would be the complete end of my already declined NFL fandom.

  • Supposedly there is a holdup in the trade with the Jets and it may be nullified. As for the original question, I am a Broncos fan, have been since I was 5 years old. I also went to FSU when Tebow was at Florida and hated him with a passion. When he was drafted by the Broncos I was close to disowning my team, but afterall no one player should determine your fandom of the TEAM as a whole. What he did last year was amazing, and I will admit, I bought into the Tebowmania. I've never seen the fans or atmosphere like that before except for maybe after the Superbowl victories. People always told me to root for the team but not Tebow the player, it really doesn't work that way, esp. for the QB position. My grandma lives in Denver and loves the guy, and it's hard for me to hate someone that my own grandma loves so dear. With all that said, I will be rooting for him wherever he ends up. He is a good guy and can no longer make the Noles miserable, so good luck to him in the NFL.

That's nice. I, on the other hand, wish Tebow ill.

He's a super-goody-goody that seems fake and contrived to me (as a Christian myself). Plus, he's a media-whore and an awful quarterback. Glad he went to the jets, who I couldn't care less about. Maybe he can learn a thing or two about being a Christian athlete that doesn't whore himself out to ESPN from LaDainian Tomlinson, who is a great leader and was a 1 million times better player. Lastly, he's a goater turd who brings them more fame and notoriety the more he's around.

Needs to swallow his pride and become the best role player he can be whether that be at special QB packages like the wildcat, FB, TE, or wherever.

This is exactly how I feel. Before I moved from Jacksonville, I was listening to 1010xl. One caller called in and said people hate Tebow because of his christian values. Really?! I don't bye that for a second. I honestly don't believe anyone, me, you, or anyone, is as clean or goody goody as Tebow and the media makes him out to be. Somewhere, there are skeletons in his closet to could either stay hidden, or be outed at anytime.

As for the OP, yes, I would still root for the Jags if they were to sign him, but wouldn't take them seriously anymore as a NFL franchise. I would question their committment to winning over selling tickets. Yes, I know the point for the owner is to make money, blah blah blah. But, as the old adage goes, winning cures all. Go out, fix the holes on the roster(to which there are a lot of)and get Gabbert a line to block for him and recievers to throw to. All this, is of course, my opinion, but has been shared by quite a few of fellow Jags fans.

The only Jags fans who do not care about the team improving are the gators and the tebow fans

  • Damn. I need to stop working so hard. Flynn left GB?

No way I would have stopped being a Packer fan if Tebow showed up. He's not Maurice Clarrett. You guys are hardcore.

The Jags are a circus. Adding Tebow would have been fitting. As a passive fan I would have welcomed it. lol.

duval, I'm a GB fan to the bone...keep that in mind.

And remember I said I'm a passive fan...but now I'm a native of Jville and I love going to the games and love seeing GJ,etc.... IMHO the Jags haven't been committed to winning since I've been here. Our qbs have stunk. Our draft picks have stunk. If you hate teams with gaturs on it this isn't the place for you. Del Rio here way too long. big stadium/small market catches us a lot of flack. etc.... JMO.

Yes Del Rio was three years too long, and I am glad he is gone. Also they are dedicated to winning, and that is why they hired Mularkey to help develop Gabbert into a better QB. If that does not work we will just draft another QB or see how good Henne can be.

  • First off I dont like tebow, but with that said he doesnt bother me either - he is no longer with the Gators and honestly I have respect for what he did as a Gator - I dont like the gators, but I can respect his production

I think the media latches on to him to much, but thats the media's fault, Im not going to blame him. I dont see him doing things to draw the media's attention I think the media just follows his moves closely because he is a polarizing figure, most people love him or hate him.

I couldnt care less, if he landed on my NFL team it wouldnt be that big of a deal its not like he is going to be a starting qb in this league anytime soon IMO.... just my 2 cents though

  • Not trying to flame at all, but it's not like the guy ask the media to give him attention. He didn't retire, then un-retire, then retire again (Favre). He went 7-3 as a starter in the NFL. Does ESPN give him too much credit? Yeah, I'd say to an extent. He's my favorite Gator. He's my Charlie Ward, minus the ESPN hype. If you want to blame anyone (again, not flaming) blame ESPN. Blame sports radio, newspapers, sports websites, heck, blame message board posters (I myself included). He has a strong Christian faith. It is what it is. In my eyes (no pun intended) he's as good of a role model in today's game as you'll find. In this day and age, a lot of today's youth need someone to look up to, and say "I wanna be like him one day." That's been lacking in professional sports for a long time. Sure there are mainstays (Jeter) but professional sports lacks a true role model to have kids look up to. Would it be different if Christian Ponder got this much attention? Would you guys(and a lot of America) be so hostile toward Ponder as you would Tebow. I just find it interesting how a seemingly "good guy" has more people against him then guys who've run afoul the law (Vick, to name a few.)

  • In my opinion, the Jets got TT for two reasons.
1.)Get Sanchez to $hit or get off the pot.
2.)Tebow brings revenue and fills the stands.

I like his values and drive.

I dont think people truly hate Tebow. Hes got great values and attributes. The tone i get is he's played out. The media made him an icon but in doing so also drove people away. I love the Foo Fighters but dang, does the radio have to play the same song constantly? Same scenario. Jeremy Lin anyone? It just gets old. Mike Vick? I wont pull for him, ever. Good luck to TT. Maybe he can bring some continuity to the Jets.
