The No. 3-ranked Florida State sand volleyball team grabbed a pair dual match victories on Friday at the Jacksonville University tournament, defeating UAB, 5-0, and Jacksonville, 4-1, at the Dolphin Beach Volleyball Complex.
The Seminoles opened the day by routing the Blazers, winning each match but two in three sets.
Sophomore Jace Pardon and senior Marija Milosavljevic (Court 2), freshman Julie Brown and sophomore Melanie Pavels (Court 3) and sophomore Stephanie Pellitteri and freshman Nina Pellitteri (Court 5) all swept their UAB opponents in two sets.
FSU's No. 1 tandem of senior Fatma Yildirim and junior Aurora Davis and No. 4 pair of freshman Katherine Plessy and senior Mallory Kiley captured their victories in three sets.
Following the sweep of UAB, Florida State took down the host Dolphins.
Only Pardon and Milosavljevic lost to JU, falling in three sets on Court 1 to Taylor Nyquist and Sammie Strausbaugh.
The Seminoles won on the four other courts as Yildirim and Davis (Court 2), Brown and Pavels (Court 3), the Pellitteri's (Court 4) and Kiley and Jeassica McGregor (Court 5) all snatched two-set victories.
Florida State will face Jacksonville again at 12 p.m. on Saturday before wrapping up the tournament against Stetson at 2 p.m.
