I don't think much will come of this. He is in college and he is 18 years old, a small amount of pot and 2 pills in the car will not get him in much trouble and will certainly not hurt him in the draft.

Not just because it's an opposing team, but that's DWI (smoking pot and driving), possession, and possession of a controled substance (my guess is that the pills were probably Oxy's).
How can you avoid suspension? He shouldn't avoid probation, let alone a suspension. Any regular joe caught with Oxy's is booked and get, at the very least, a hefty fine. With all of the problems the US and Canada are having with prescription pills anymore, you have to wonder how'll they'll spin it so he doesn't see any trouble.
For the record, I think he's going to get off easy. How in the hell else are they going to compete?

This. A little weed never hurt nobody.
Also, if every college football player got suspended for smoking some weed, we'd all be really bored on Saturdays.

I actually feel bad for Watkins if he has to take Adderral. Perscription drugs which affect brain chemistry usually have lousy side effects. This is a non-issue from a big picture standpoint, and we can count on him taking the field at Tally in September.

Interesting question...Does the NCAA consider taking adderral academic cheating? Its basically brain steroids right? Giving students an illegal edge up on competitors. I demand that Sammy Watkins be deemed academically ineligible at once.

Breaking news from investigative poster JeffSpicNolie...The NCAA HAS banned adderrall for student athletes without prescription and ADHD diagnosis. So that could potentially force a suspension.

Schedule 2 drug (worst possible schedule/class >> most narcotics, legally speaking), not a good thing. We should wait and see what he truly has and how much before judgement is made. I could walk into my med school and probably 40-70% of the kids would have some form of ADHD medication in their bag (some legal and some not).

I wish residency programs and hospitals would consider whether or not kids took adderall as a "crutch" throughout med/pharm/dental school. It is like steroids for your brain. It is the most widely abused drug in college students (other than booze and weed which are both drugs technically). They should have an asterisk next to their GPA. It would def help a lot in sports also. Maybe thats how players learned the playbooks so fast (joking).....

Not just one controlled or shedule 2 substance but 2! The marijane is the least of the concerns here! My Tiger friends up here are virtually throwing the toweel in already! Double down on "Nuke" and bring the pressure on Taj.

Not sure why that's any better. Just because everyone's doing it in college, doesn't make it legal to be in possession of someone else's prescribed pills. It's an addictive substance that kids take for mental alertness, OR, they snort it to get high. Kids at my highschool did that all the time.
Either way, carry around someone else's pills, as just your average joe on the street, and see if you get off as easy as Sammy does... lol
