There are some painful truths to that, but I disagree that moving to a stronger conference will hurt us. We have played down to opponents for too long, and if that is no longer an option, we will have to bring it every week.

So we are suppossed to carry an entire conference? Why don't other teams step up and become "power players" when we step back from title contention like we see in every other conference? Does it really matter how we fare in the ACC? This move is strictly for financial reasons. Last time I checked, on VT has been a better ACC program than we have since expansion. We have held our own in this conference.

I think he is right except i think we will be an OU or Tx level team. We're better the texas right now. we will be one of the big powers in the big 12.

When you report a $2-million budget deficit and another conference can double your TV revenue, it IS a very smart idea to make the transition. Whether you want to believe it or not, Florida State is improving and once again becoming a player on the national scene. The SEC is a dominant conference because of the wealth associated with it and the competition that is within it. Why can't the Big 12 become the same thing?

Florida State was playing one of the toughest schedules year in and year out during their dynasty run. This program was built on "anyone, anywhere, anytime" under Bowden.

Our defense dominated the ACC, and was one of the top units in the country last season. The defense is already on a MNC caliber level. The problem was the plethora of injures to our offense last season (EJ Manuel, Andrew Datko, David Spurlock, Rashad Green, Willie Haulstead, Chris Thompson, etc) Hopefully everyone can stay healthy this season, so that we can see what our team is capable of.

The only team top to bottom in the Big12 that has a leg up on us right now is Oklahoma.
