    1. What are the chances of Elliot being hired as DC at FSU? 2. Any chance of Jim Leavitt?

I don't think there is a good chance of either. Better odds of Eliot getting the DC job. I don't see either happening.

  • Ok I'm at a loss here, I'm not quite understanding if Coley leaves and we do indeed hire an OC. You are all in agreement it will be another puppet and Jimbo will not relinquish play calling? Isn't that the whole point of his 5 year plan? So basically nothing will change in your opinion? and won;t that severely limit our choices of good OC's?

All games are important, if you don't think so try losing one and see how people act.-B.Bowden

If Coley leaves who comes on as the new OC?

I am not sure that Jimbo even gives someone the OC title if Coley leaves. Was probably more of a ploy to get Coley some extra salary at the time.

    1 way more than 2.

Sean believes Fisher will give in and give up playcalling. He based it off comments Fisher made about Muschamp relinquishing duties to Quinn when he hired him.

Josh, Tim, and myself all believe we will maintain the status quo. I do believe the status quo would result in some offensive coordinators not giving a real look to FSU (if the position were to open).

If FSU is out to hire an OC who won't call plays, they probably won't worry about getting a "good" OC.

Jimbo essentially is the offensive coordinator. It's his offense, he's calling the plays.

  • Let's assume that Jimbo wants another "puppet" and won't give up play calling.

What are the chances of Craig being promoted? It seems like we NEED him purely for recruiting purposes.

Fair enough, be interesting to see if/who that hire is then. It will tell a lot I suppose.

I just see Eddie Gran being more likely to receiving the promotion to OC than Craig. I don't even know if Craig is ready for that kind of role compared to Gran.

    That's another good possibility.

Craig already has the Recruiting Coordinator tag.

  • If Coley leaves and an internal candidate becomes OC, I would think that would be a sure sign of the status quo

  • Would FSU consider getting Vernon Hargraves Sr. For DE coach if Elliot goes to Kentucky?

They would aim for a great recruiter who can do an excellent job with a specific position group.

I don't believe FSU "needs" anyone for recruiting, save for maybe Jimbo. Like Josh alluded to in another thread, these guys do a great job recruiting. But having "FSU" written on their hats when they go into a school or living room goes a long, long way. FSU will be fine in recruiting.

No doubt. Would mean little to no change on the surface of things as far as what we/the public sees on game day.
