Love it, but 5 year plan aside, I doubt he gives up playcalling control for a long time.

How bout JImbo coach the QB's, Coley the real OC, then hire a TE coach that also coaches Special Teams, or Sunseri can do Specials as well as DE's?

I've owned my own business for 16 years and at times have been ultra controlling and tried to do too much because no one is more invested than me. But at some point, you realize there aren't enough hours in a day and you need to delegate. And then it comes down to putting people in a position to succeed by playing to their strength's. Jimbo will learn that. Right now it's his first shiny new car and he doesn't want anyone to drive it.

I would be fine with bringing in Weinke. I think he was in line for the job at USF ?

We need another ace recruiter though, dunno who or what is out there as far as ace recruiter QB coaches.

Jimbo is and always will be the qb coach. Hiring another qb coach is a waste of a spot. Craig was a recruiter and not coach. So we won't be replacing anything on the x's and o's end of things.

We have Pruitt so we don't need anyone else to recruit Bama. There is not enough talent in Bama to warrant 2 coaches focusing on the area. Besides, if we can get what Bama is getting out of j'ville we would be ahead of the game anyway.

If we want a coach I think we should get a special teams' coach. If we want a recruiter then it doesn't matter where you put him.

cb coach is a possibility as well. However, Pruitt should be able to coach both safeties and corners.

I know it's cliche to suggest Alabama staff members, but Mike Groh is kind of an interesting target to me.

Careful with asking that question because we may get an answer we don't want to hear.

If coley was going to call plays next year would Jimbo actually announce that now and make a big deal out of it or would he just quietly make the change and announce something a few days before our first game? Doesn't seem to me like allowing our current oc to actually do what he should be doing anyways would require an announcement 9 months before our next game.

I suspect there would never be an announcement. If i was Jimbo I would never address it in any interview or press conference either.

(1) too many sticky follow up questions to deal with such as : Why did it take 4 years for you to gain the confidence in Coley to let him call plays,etc.

(2) When did you realize it was a mistake for you to continue to call plays

(3) i could keep going: i could come up with about 15 questions in the vein.

(2) it is also demeaning to Coley to make an announcement like this: a lot of the country eg Matt Millen, think coley calls the plays because he is the oc.
