Reid arrested

  • No one should make excuses for Reid. He needs to be accountable for his actions and make smarter decisions. People are going to make mistakes and no one is perfect. But, when you make a dumb decision after another one....that's on you. He's "supposed" to be one of the LEADERS of this team.

Don't forget how much the APR factors in on these decisions. You don't want to kick a guy off the team because it would hurt your APR score.

    What does APR stand for?

Yes, that would send a great message to potential recruits.

What message WOULD it send to potential recruits?

  • FWIW I would NOT kick Reid off the team. I was playing devil's advocate; just wanted to see people's reaction. I'm surprised no one was with me. Everyone thinks a slap on the wrist should suffice. That's why these kids continue to f*** up. Nobody takes it seriously.

He should miss 2 games. Of course, it'll be Murray and Savannah. How convenient. I think one of the reasons most FBS schools put the creampuffs at the top of the schedule is for situations like this. There's always a kid or two getting in trouble over the summer, you suspend him for the first two games (the creampuffs) and you don't even miss him.

GR5 is one of my favorite 'Noles, but what total disregard he has for his future! He needs to wake up if he ever wants to play in the NFL.

    Smiles all around.

They should kick him off the team just to set an example. Seriously. There should be ZERO tolerance for repeated stupidity.

I would normally agree with you but everything from the first case was dropped and, from what I remember, that was somewhat blown out of proportion.

As far as someone saying that the civil infraction is separate from the crime, that is true. You can also move to consolidate them and a good attorney would, and then get the infraction thrown out with a plea to the criminal charge.

If someone else was in the car, or the pot was not lit or exposed (or obvious) from the cup holder, the marijuana charge would likely be dropped with a plea to the DWLS.

I am ALL for accountability, but to make a stand on this particular case, while other players on our team and other teams are committing felonies and getting only suspensions, seems excessive to me.

This is his last year. Suspend him, punish him and let's gone on with the season.

  • Reid will probably get three citations one for window tint, seat belt violation and another, criminal traffic citation, for DWLSR. He will also have a court date in Georgia for this offense.

Anytime you find drugs in a car you write the citation(s) for what gave you probable cause (PC) to initiate a traffic stop. In some cases you would have just written a warning for tint but when due to his arrest and defense attorneys you write out every ticket indicating why you lawfully stopped a vehicle, all about the 4th Amendment.
