It appears that Randy Shannon has landed on his feet. Probably not the job he deserves nor the job that he wanted but it is a fresh start.
From Yahoo! Sports: CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) -- Former Miami coach Randy Shannon is headed back to the sideline.

He will get another job sooner or later... Especially coaching at TCU... he does deserve better in my opinion...

A job at TCU isn't anything to scoff at. He may not be hired as anything other than a position coach until the Miami investigation is over with and schools know his name is clean (or not).
Do you think the lawsuit his has with the University of Miami has tarnished his image and this too has played a role in him not getting a decent position? He was fired in 2010. I didnt think it would take this long for him to get a job.
Former Miami coach Randy Shannon is suing his alma mater, saying the university decided to not pay him all that he was guaranteed in his final contract.

There are certain people in life that just need to be where they are. Shannon was a terrific DC, Weis great OC, Etc…….
There is nothing wrong with being very good at what you do, if you try for the next rung and fail get back on the horse and be the best at what your good at.
How many coaches failed in their first attempt at being a HC only to go on and become successful in the latter opportunities? It amazes me that so many speak so definitively about one staying in their place. It was his first HC opportunity. Will he become a great HC if given the chance? I honestly don't know. But, neither does anyone else.

I'm not an authority on the subject, but I doubt the lawsuit has much impact. At least I wouldn't really consider it if he were applying to a position at my school/on my team. Didn't he have a desk job on tv last year? It's not like he just sat at home for a year. I'd imagine that as soon as the NCAA delivers their sanctions and if he doesn't face any type of suspension from the NCAA, he'll have a DC job somewhere or a HC job at a smaller school. I thought his name was popping up a lot for the DC position at Ohio State and Maryland in the winter (or maybe it was other schools).
