  • Feeling 10-2, loss to VT and a loss to someone we shouldn't lose to, win a rematch with VT in the ACCCG, BCS Bowl-Orange?

  • Our 3 losses in the ACC last year were by a combined total of 11 points. That was with an OL that was decimated by injuries, starting Qb didn't play in 1 1/2 games, and missing our starting tailback for most of the year. Even with that set aside, this team is 11 points better than we were last year.

    From all reports our OL is bigger, stronger, and now healthy. Last year they were getting pasted in fall camp and I remember Jimbo saying the DL was destroying those guys, so the writing was on the wall early. This year he's had nothing but good things to say and they've been winning their fair share of battles against one of the top DLs in the country.

    Our defense is our strength, but Jimbo's offense has the potential to be very explosive and unpredictable when the run game is going.

    My prediction is that we live up to the hype this year and our OL plays great. We will beat the teams we are supposed to, and we will win big games on the road. That's what champions do. 12-0/ACC Champ/BCS National Championship Game

  • I feel confident we'll win our first two games! I'll even bet a little money on it! biggrin

    11-1. Somehow, we'll have a breakdown in a close one, and/or the ACC game officials will forget the fact that the rule book is supposed to be evenly applied to BOTH teams. I'm kinda worried now that all our players are bigger. If we think the refs had a hard time seeing stuff in years past, now it will be even tougher on them, trying to see around our good ole bigguns, and big ole gooduns. We may just break the record for yeller flags in a season! lollol However, special teams show out nearly as well as last year, helping us in many ways.

    Win the ACCCG, as Jimbo, throughout his career, has show a penchant for excellent and winning preparation for big games.

    Go to Orange bowl, and I get my Auntie to put a sickness spell on the opposition, and we win by 17 going away.

    WOIST.
    10-2 at the worst. We now have quality depth just about everywhere. However, should several front-liners go down, and while we MAY have a quality back-up to fill in, actual game and game-speed experience will be just a bit lacking and could catch us out in a close one. Special Teams does just OK, and forces us into longer drives, and we miss a long kick at the wrong time costing us dearly.

    Maybe stumble in the ACCCG, and if so.

    Go to a mid-level bowl, and kill our opponent so bad they can't even find their way back to their team buses.

    Claire sez: 14-0, win the MNC, and will not entertain any other scenario!

    I don't know which three teams we would lose to (there is no Oregon or USC or Bama that is clearly better than us), but I can identify three games we could easily lose.

    Clemson
    VT
    NC State

    Plus, USF could be a lot tougher than people think, and by the time we play UF, who knows how things are going. Did we think we'd lose to UVA? At home?
