There is saying what you are supposed to say... 'We support the ACC', 'We will continue to help the ACC grow', ect...
Then there is publicly calling out your BOT chairman. That is a big no no, and could be bad for him and his future at FSU.
The president is the president, but if the BOT wants him out, he will be out. Bottom line. BOT runs the University.

You guys are missing the main point. "...misinformation about the provisions of the ACC contract..."
This is what we need clarification on. I have read that the misinformation revolves around the 'third tier TV rights.' What I have read is that basketball doesn't have 3rd tier rights either.
IF that is true, then a large part of Haggard's point is moot.
It doesn't change the essential point that we lose a significant potential for additional football revenue with 3rd tier rights for football, but it does take away the apparent biased nature of football vs basketball in the conference.
The need to look at other alternatives is still very real, but we really need to Know the facts before we comment further.

Anyone thinking this is all carefully orchestrated is going to be disappointed. Spetman releases a milquetoast statement that we're "committed" to the ACC and the the president and BOT are as well.
The next day, the Chairman of the BOT says the ACC deal is hot garbage (and is apparently misinformed about parts of the deal) and the BOT is unanimous in looking elsewhere
Later that night, the President says we are not seeking or considering alternatives to the ACC.
It is amateur hour up in Tallahassee right now. What a joke.

Stunned? I wouldn't be. I'd be stunned if the BOT looked at the Big XII financials and decided NOT to leave. The only thing holding this up, IMO, is an actual invite from the Big XII.
West Va bolted from the Big East to the Big XII seemingly overnight and will actually be playing in the Big XII this season. Nebraska bolted to the Big Ten out of the blue. Texas A&M & Mizzou will be playing in the SEC this fall when this time last year those two schools were singing kumbaya over the new Big XII deals.
Things happen at a rapid pace these days. And the geography is not as awful as you think. Take a look at the Pac 12 or the Big Ten...there's some serious land between Nebraska and Penn State, between Arizona and Washington. We'd definitely be an outlier but it's certainly manageable, especially with WVU already there and perhaps Clemson joining us as well.
